We had a lot of ice and snow in our area, and coming out of my subdivision I lit up the blue Traction Control Active light. All was well until about 30 minutes of Interstate driving later, and the orange Traction Control and the ABS lights popped on together. When reaching my mostly untreated work parking lot, it was obvious that those systems were not working.

Fast forward: The car had been sitting for a few hours before lunch, but I just drove it again, and the orange lights are still on. So what did I do--burn that crap up in there? :banghead:

You have to use the climate control and pull the codes out that are stored in the ans and traction section do a search on how to pull the codes. Post them and i'll tell you what it is. Probably a speed sensor...

My right rear wheel rubbed some wires raw, which shorted out the system.

So how much does the sensor cost to fix? :bonkers:

If the problem is one of the wheel sensors, you can replace it yourself. I discovered this after having the local Chevy dealer diagnose and replace one of mine. The key is checking the codes and diagnosing the problem correctly.

I can't find my invoice for that work, but I think the sensor was about $75.00 plus labor....about $280 total. An expensive lesson. The sensors are cheaper at local or Internet parts outlets. The front right unit just went bad one day.
