Blew my second set of Bose speakers for the doors, sick of this paper cone crap. Wanting to pop in some Infinity Reference 4022i's that are 4" and run at 2ohm. These should be a direct swap and work with the Bose amp correct?

Here's the specs:

Woofer Composition: IMPP
Top Mount Depth: 1-15/16 Inches
Sensitivity: 92.6 dB
RMS Power Range : 2-35 Watts
Peak Power Handling: 105 Watts
Impedance: 2 Ohm
Frequency response: 85-21000 Hz
Diameter: 4 (approx) Inch
Design: 2 Way
Tweeter Composition: Textile

Bose Amp - Correct.
Mounting - Not if it's like my '02 ETC. The speaker has 3 mounting screws. The Infinity Reference 4022i's have four.
Hope this helps.

Hymmm, a '97....I might have some plugs that come out of the '92 which I used as a test bed before getting the '02 and doing the full install.
I tapped into the radio module which is all in the trunk in the '92.
If it's the same on the '97, you can have them.

I'll snap some pics of the plugs tomorrow.
At some point between '92 and '02 they changed the RIM configuration. The '92 has the tuner section in the RIM (if it's even called RIM then) while the '02 has it in the HU.
Where is your antenna wire going?

Sorry, my plugs won't work for you.
So the RIM changed sometime between '92 and '97.
The good new is everything you need is at the RIM except a dedicated power line.
AND so far the stock alternator is hoding up better than expected in mine. The chraging system was designed for a 400 watt sytem. I have 900 total and it's doig well.
BUT, I have yet to tune it and start playing it hard. :cool2:

The whole system was changed in '96, not one single component in the sound system is the same between pre '96 and '96+ cars with the exception of the speakers. The change was not just physical (module and location), the whole layout is different, RIM in old system has to do with the "R"adio, while RIM in the new system has nothing to do with the radio, they just used the same name (very inappropriate for '96+ system).
