I dont remember the Whine sound being so loud at idle before i did the mods. Does anybody have any whining sound being louder at Idle with just a 2.4 pulley swap?

----------

Whine sounds deeper as well. Really hoping i didn mess something up during te install

should sound stock at idle(aside from the headers). Did you do the solid isolator? If so, was it really tight?

Yes, the solid isolater was very snug but not super tight. could that be the reason? here is a link to how it sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPGuYc7s7T0&feature=youtu.be

not good. That is exactly how mine sounded when my front snout bearing went *bad*. My isolator was too tight, never fully seated, and put a thrust on the front bearing. The bearings( two in the snout) were very difficult to find. I read where G Force can rebuild them, also W4M. Maybe try one of them.

Its not the isolator. You probably wrecked the bearing pressing the snout on( judging from one of your other 3 posts on the subject). You can put the stock isolator back on, but the noise will still be there( plus the rattle)

Ross, that's how my engine has always sounded. It has always had a slight whine. I assumed its just the blower spinning. With the hood shut you can't hear any whine. Does yours not make any whine sound?

No, mine doesnt whine like that. Mine did whine right after my 2.55 pully install, and I *asumed* it was supposed to as well. Until another V owner let me listen to their car in person. I replaced the snout bearings, no more whine(at idle or when slightly reving the motor, like you did). Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Well I cant see any harm in letting the bearing run till they burn out. I have heard other V's that sound like mine. Do you happen to have the bearing part number so I can get some extra. Also, how did you get th new ones on, just press the shaft out? are there any instructions anywhere?

I do hear the whine in the stock cupler but it is 100 times worse with the LPE solid Isolater installed. I hope some other people can chime in and let me know if thier car has a slight whine when running. My entire blower and snout are brand new, only 40 miles on the enitre set up.

I read where w4M has them. Do a search on snout bearing, I cant remember off hand. Not too bad to install, just have to be careful. Good luck!
