My first questions are about the stereo. I noticed upon closer listening that the speakers(tweeters) That are behind the black square covers in the woodgrain parts of the doors are not functioning. Is there something turned off or are they prone to blow out? (It's a 1996 FWB with a cd/cassette combination) Also what size are the speakers in the front kick panels and are they Bose? The rear 6x9's are Bose in my car.

The other questions are about the integrated phone system. As all of you know, or if you didn't you cannot activate any of the old analog phones (which had the best reception power by the way) I was wondering how hard it would be to remove the entire phone from my car and/or if it was possible to tap into the box under the rear seat to use the antenna. The phone is no good if you can't use it! I have a LG phone which I was able to use the belt clip to make a holder where the other phone holder is.

Last question. There is a grouping of wires to the right of the spare tire toward the rear in the trunk under the carpet. One of the wires looks like a coaxial screw on thing like for the phone antenna and the others are plugs. I was wondering what purpose these served.

I know that this is lengthy. Thanks all for reading!!

That probably isn't a factory phone. You can take it out if you want but it's not going to work with any other phone then what it's made for. You can still use analog phones but the really old ones don't work anymore.

My car was a limo and it had a similar setup in it but it wasn't factory. That coax connector was probably for the phone antenna that by now some one has removed...

Did Cadillac offer an integrated phone in '96. I think this phone is factory. It has the mic on the driver's side pillar, and the cord for the phone nicely goes into the carpeting. The phone is also locked unless you put the key in the ignition and turn it to acc or on.

Does anyone know about the stereo stuff?

To find out the size of the speakers go to www. crutchfield.com they have a cross reference section. As far as the tweeters turn your bass all the way down and treble all the way up, and fade left to right to check them, if they don't work replace them all tweeter are prone to blow, power surge to much bass. Replace the tweeters with a good pair with a crossover or now days there so inexpensive just a pair from walmart. Depends on how much you want to spend. :coolgleam

Yes, Cadillac did offer a phone. But I don't have any info on it.

There shouldn't be any adjustments to turn on or off the tweeters.

The mid's in the doors are 5 1/4". And your rears are 8".

Good advice for most car's.

You won't find a '93-'96 Fleetwood though. :disappoin

I replaced the factory tweeters with 1 inch rockford fosgates. Looks factory. I hot glued them in from behind...

Most car phones are like that. On mine the microphone is on the sunvisor. Can you take a picture of the phone?
