Iím installing 275/35/19 and 305/30/19 on my stock wheels on my 2012 CTS V Coupe. I understand spacers are recommended. I note I can get 11 mm for the front and 15 mm for the back. Some suggest running 15 mm all the way around.

I do not drag race the car. Rather, I take it to driving schools. Obviously, Iím looking for road course handling.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Jim

So, as I mentioned in another thread. I run the OEM wheels but not precisely OEM set up. I widened the fronts and moved them to the rear, now 19x11. The rear OEM's I moved to the front. I run a fairly wide spacer on the rear (either 12 or 15 mm I think) and a smaller one up front (no idea). There is no rubbing, period. I'm only selling the complete set up because the car is getting set up for track-only duty. The handling is much improved with the bigger rubber.

Now, on stock OEM's, I was under the impression that you can run the sizes you mentioned without any issues, but again, I'm not an authority on that since I didn't try it. I have read I think a lot of posts with people running those sizes on OEM setups without issues.

Thanks for your input. I ordered 15 mm spacers all the way around because I wanted to keep the same ratio between the front track and the rear track. Why? I don't know! Probably like what Emerson said in Self Reliance "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."

Do you need longer studs with the spacers ?
do you loose the hubcentric effect with spacers ?
will they clear without spacers ?

The spacers are hubcentric. Good question on studs I don't recall but can find out. I think they are stock but they may not be. No, my set up will definitely not clear without the spacers.

I just got my V, so I'm asking 10 zillion questions. I'm not looking for every tenth of a second, just looking for a solid track day setup. thanks

Just sorry you are East Coast so you can't hit a Challenge event with us out here. Ask away, lots of good info here.

If your spacers are small, stock studs would be fine. Beefier spacers should have longer studs...

I ran 11mm spacers on my sedan, but I had longer studs. Not sure how much spacer you can run without needing longer studs? If you're going to a road course, might be worthing looking into getting longer studs if you're planning to run spacers.

I have 4 11mm spacers if any are looking for some...

If they are bolt in hubs centric spacers longer studs are not necessary. I run 15 MM all the way around. Your stock wheels have holes in the back to accommodate this.

A picture would probably help.

Ordered the spacers from Motorsport Tech. Its owner assured me everything would work with the tires I have ordered. Spacers came in today. I will know Thursday when I take the car in to have the tires mounted.

I will report back and take some pictures.
