Does this mean the current cts coupe lives to see another year? Can two platforms be built in the same assembly line?

Didn't realize how poorly this looks on the mobile app.

CTS Coupe
2012 FINAL ORDER DUE DATE---------03/03/12 (A)
2013 INITIAL ORDER ACCEPTANCE----04/19/12 (B)
2013 START OF PRODUCTION----------06/11/12 (C)
2013 FINAL ORDERS DUE TO AGENT--03/14/13 (D)
2013 FINAL ORDER DUE DATE---------03/21/13 (E)
2014 INITIAL ORDER ACCEPTANCE ---04/18/13 (F)
2014 START OF PRODUCTION----------06/10/13 (G)

It seems (from this agent) that production may continue on for the CTS coupe, 2014 orders accepted 4/18/2013. The current CTS Coupe may see another year of production, on the same line as the new CTS Sedan.

The CTS Wagon, goes away.

The 3rd gen 2014 CTS Sedan info, not available.

Both the ATS and CTS will be available as coupes. Similar and disimilar paltforms are now routinely run on the same assembly line due to flexible tooling--in fact front wheel drive and rear wheel drive vehicles are run on the same lines. Although build out dates may differ between models, the "old" Cts coupe will not exist alongside the new sedan.

Is this conjecture or do you have information to back it up. I hope you are correct, this would be the first real information that a CTS coupe will be made.

For 2014, can we all agree that the only hope for a CTS coupe is the continuation of the current model?

If so, then this model (sigma platform) has to be built on the same line as the Gen3 sedan (alpha platform). And that might be possible according to next2pool.

Then the information on order and build dates seem accurate. According to fleet leasing company Donlen, orders for a new 2014 coupe will be accepted April 18, with production scheduled to start on June 10, 2013.

The CTS Coupe is likely to see a fourth model year, alongside a newer gen3 sedan. Good news for those of us with a 2011 lease, now if they could bring back the 6-manual....

The downtown Lansing plant is currently only setup to build RWD architectures. Oshawa, Lake Orion, Spring Hill, and Hamtramk can build almost anything.

Oh well - it looks like the resale value of my 2010 AWD Wagon just plummeted as it is now an orphan. I hope I will be able to get tail lights and similar and other wagon specific items.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. If they don't make a CTS coupe or wagon, I don't think they will be so called orphans. In the very long run (15+ years), they will hold their own better I think because of the short run. However, I think the coupe and wagon won't lose a lot because, unlike the sedan, there won't be a CTS replacement. The last year of a model that is knowingly going to be replaced will be harder for dealers to sell, but those buyers that plan on holding onto them will probably only lose just as much depreciation as any other vehicle. In other words, if you buy a 2013 CTS sedan and sell it within a year, you're probably going to take a bigger beating than if you had bought a 2011 sedan and sold it in 2012, because the 2014 model was too far away at that point. The coupe and wagon (allegedly) will not be replaced in the CTS line, so I think a lot is going to depend on whether they make coupes and/or wagons in the ATS. Furthermore, wagons seem to be making a bit of a comeback as people get out of SUVs and Crossovers and find a wagon better suited to their needs (Just ask Clark Griswold). As an aside, I think the CTS wagon kicks a--, since there's really nothing else like it and if I had kids or needed to haul stuff, I'd probably get that over the sedan.

I wouldn't worry at all. This is my second late model year only gen discontinued vehicle. (12 coupe). I have a 05 avalanche 3/4 ton as well. Parts are super easy to get and cheap. I also have a Super Enduro 950. The cult following ensures plenty of availability and amazing resale as they get older.

The 2014 CTS is due to be revealed at the New York Auto Show next week. Does anyone know when GM will provide a definitive answer about the status of the CTS Coupe and wagon? Katie?

Live2drive1, I unfortunately do not have access to a confirmed start of production yet. However, I do see the 2014 CTS midsize luxury sedan is launching this fall in the United States and the Twin-Turbo engine will also will be offered in the 2014 XTS large luxury sedan this fall! For ordering information, we definitely recommend checking in with your dealership for updates.

If you haven't already done so, http://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2013/Mar/nyas/0318-lf3-engine.html is a great resource for its preliminary specifications.

Staggered intros are common these days and are often misread by the media and the press. The fact that a certain model isn't available at intro doesn't mean it's not going to happen. I find it interesting that quotes from an uninformed press somehow becomes a truth. I worked with the press and major magazine writers/editors for 30+ years. It would be a big mistake to think that they know squat.

I read this today, saying that the coupe and the wagon will "live another day" for 2014. They will be basically unchanged from 2013. For me, this is good news.

Hello Buddy:

Long time no chat. I sure do love the manual trans in our coupe's and you're right Caddy needs to bring it back, even if it's just for the die hards like us.
