: Desperately want Michelin Super Sports but can't wait for OEM rear tire

I understand that the rear OEM Michelin Super Sport won't be available for several months. I have 17,000 miles on my original tires and they need replaced. They survived for one day driving schools.

Since I go to high-performance driving schools, handling on a track is my biggest need. I read somewhere on the forum that based upon the handling and suspension testing, the OEM tires provide the optimal handling, especially getting over 1g at times.

I was considering going with the super sports in the sizes: 265/40 19 and 295/35 19 rear. Interestingly, the ladder tire is $445. The 305/30 19 is $379. I found that odd that then again I am on.

I have had Kumho V12 EVO tires in the past with an E46 M3 and an E90 M3 and light them very much. Those tires beat the hell out of the original equipment run flats.

With the handling be better if I stayed with the OEM super sport on the front?

As always, much appreciated,

Jim

I have 4 rear PS2s with approx 50% tread on them. No patches, no plugs...

I've got 295/35/19 Michelin Super Sport in the rear now & will get 265's for the front eventually. Better traction & appearance, you can send your 285's to Ron Burgundy he collects them... ;)

I've got 275/295 super sports. Fits perfect and bites very hard in the corners. Night/day from the ps2's.

If you don't mind ordering them Tire Rack has got them in stock. You should have them in a few days.
