hi, i have a 472 in a 74 sedan deville. slowly pulling off and cleaning parts on the engine. recently rebuild the carb and decided to pull the intake manifold too. couple of questions. do i have to drain the coolant on this model and is there anything i can do to the manifold to get some more air flow? i plan to pull the heads as well, just not right now.

As a matter of fact you can get more airflow from the stock intake manifold.

so i just grind out the walls in the stock intake? hmm

anybody have a spare carb for this motor. its the qjet with heatcontrolled auto choke. i need the carb and the parts that bolt to the manifold. there is a piece on the passenger side of the carb that is bolted to the manifold that broke off when i was taking it off, just wondering what that was and where i can find one

Coolant does not pass through the intake manifold on 472/500 engines.
