Ok, when I went on this trip yesterday on the interstate, it was about mid 50's or low 60's, I turned the A/C on because it was starting to get humid, I had been driving at least 10-15 miles, and was already on the interstate at this point. I had the A/C on, and the climate control was set at 60, I started pushing up the A/C temp to 75 when I felt heat coming out of the vent, yes, heat!!! That quickly faded as the damper closed, and I had no air blowing out of any vent, just hear the blower going.

Can someone explain what's going on? If my heat works, this is just too much.

And, neither of my heated seats work. The lights will come on, how much would it run to replace elements and relays??? I dont hear any clicking noises or anything. This sounds like something I could do myself, so long as I dont have to rip the seat out of the car.

To have the elements replaced the leather needs to come off, aka take to dealership.

When mine was in the dealership a year ago, I had them determine the seat heater problem on the driver seat. The problem was with the heating element, so I bought the two elements and decided to do the work myself. Each element was $78.00 ( 2 needed, seat bottom and seat back). I would have someone evaluate the problem to know what parts you will need.

Well, a year has gone by and I still haven't replaced the heater elements. You do have to take the seat out and remove the leather covers. The repair manual says to replace the cushion also, but I understand they are no longer available. I was advised on the Yahoo forum that the cushions could be reused with possibly some added foam material.

I don't think the job will be too difficult, I'm just lazy and I haven't had a backup car for a few weeks. Once I get the drivers seat out, I'm sure it will be out for a few days. I'm not real quick with repairs, and I always find something else that needs attention whenever I tear something up.

Now, it's winter......maybe I'll get to it soon. If I start the work, I'll kepp you informed.
