Really makes the car... Would've been nice to have a stock from the factory somewhat of a better knob.

I went with the suede. It really fits the theme of the interior like the seats.

Are these weighted any differently/better? Any install issues, or direct fit?

Cadispeedster

Idk about weight, i personally just touching up some minor visibilities for now. I think the car performs just fine the way it is without "racing it"

But it's direct...

So it's not a V2 knob, it's a V1 aftermarket piece? Cool! I love the look!

Cadispeedster

no it's from a 08+ i purdy sure, yeah V2...

Cadispeedster - where'd you get the dash/trim kit? Are they available in a carbon fibre look or anything like that? How'd they adhere to the rubbery-plastic trim pieces like the centre console...?

You can put a V2 knob into a V1? I did not know that...

Does it just go right on?

Nice. And just buying new is the way to go?

It's what I would do. Luke at Lindsay. Did that for my V in '09...

From pictures it doesn't seem to be any different shape - is it? What about weight - is it any heavier by any chance? If its just an aesthetic mod, I'll knock it down on my list a bit for now. Also looking at Lloyd "V" mats (gonna go with black mats on my grey carpet), clear fogs (group buy going on!), and a 2nd ECM to send away for some programming/tuning. Oh, and saving up for an LS7 clutch swap sometime (if I could just stop nickel 'n' dime-ing myself to death!). Spring must be in the air, eh!! :)

Aesthetic only. Same body from V1 to V2. The V2 has that different shift pattern cap on top and is available in suede. That's it. They snap on the same, they feel the same...

SAME!

It snaps/pops right on there. No screwing or bolts or anything like that.

Much better look than stock. I went with the non-suede V2 knob and love it (actually my wife bought it for me for Christmas).

So what you're trying to say is that they're pretty similar... Like almost the same... Got it. ;) lol

It bolts right up...they are identical. I have the leather version of the V2 knob.

That leather V2 knob looks nice I may have to get one.

Now that I've done some research, I don't know if I can justify $110+ on basically just replacing that top cap with a V emblem rather than what's there now. For the extra $, I think I'm leaning towards a TWM Desert Eagle in satin. I think the 1.2 pound weight will improve shifts a bit [especially since I had Brian (PISNUOFF) shorten the height of my shifter, thus reducing leverage a bit).
I'll admit that it doesn't look quite as "in place" as the V1/V2 knobs, but the functionality helps me justify the cost. :)

Yes, very similar. Almost mirror images of one another!! I also can't believe how little they changed interior design between the V1 and V2!!

Ok, I'm done.

is the side E-brake lever an option

Cadispeedster
03-19-13, 10:35 PM
I hate the pedal style E-brake. Probably the only thing i can't stand about my V... It feels like I'm driving a truck.
