Just yesterday driving home from work I noticed a jolt when I accelerate, like the transmission is slipping. Do you think it is a broken motor mount? Car runs fine. No messages, etc. thanks is advance

Not sure what it might be. Not likely to be a broken motor mount.

i have a similar (i think given the vague description) when my belt slips. the car sounds like its moving but doesnt then "catches" and lunges forward. you would knw if its the tranny slipping.

Do you have a CAI on the car? I get this often with my Spectre. It's the TCC solenoid locking up the converter based on signal inputs from around the engine/car, one of those is from the MAF (calculated load values, etc, that it uses based on inputs from the MAF... But I'm not a tuner, so....), as such, with all the extra amount of air coming in with the Spectre, the MAF isn't always spot-on with it's calculation vs. reality (inputs from other sensors), and it slams/jolts hard upon initial acceleration, say from a slow roll (like turning a corner or something).

When it start happening, I put the car into an idle re-learn, and go from there. I also clean my MAF frequently, just incase to make sure it is metering properly.

No CAI. Everything is stock.

I don't think it is the belt slipping. It jolts and the RPM's go up a bit then back down.

then it would be the tranny slipping. if i remember correctly in the 6l80s 1-3-5 are known to go out.

Ok. Thanks. I guess I will get it looked at.

Do you think changing the transmission fluid would help?

Sounds like it. The 3-5-R clutch pack is the weakest. That's what went on mine.

Only if it is low now. Check the level.

See if you can get a video of it happening.

how much was your rebuild?

My first rebuild was $1050 with me dropping the trans off at the shop. That was all new clutches with including upgraded Alto clutches in the 3-5-R and 4-5-6 drums.

That didn't last. The builder didn't put enough clearance in the 3-5-R pack and it burned up. Clutches were warrantied and I installed them with the proper amount of clearance.
