Im am going to look at a 95 deville, was wondering if the computer codes come up like they do on my 86, in the engine forum it says 4.x engine codes but doesnt list any years??

Yes, they do come up. It works just like your '86. Just follow the same way and read the codes from the driver info center. I've got a 95 Deville also, with the 4.9. One smooth, reliable little motor. Shouldn't cause you any trouble at all. good luck on the car :thumbsup:

Well i got codes IO27, IO39, and PO71, where is the info on these codes or are they just the E27 and E39, what about the PO number??

Also service ride control is showing, yet i heard the rear air struts pump up and quit within 3 seconds, so im not sure what service means??

Also after codes it says "PCM?" and the ? is part of the readout.

Other than that, someone who did the oil change spilled oil all over the engine and the filter spot was soaked too. Ive always hated the filter location on these cars, even my 86 is in the same spot.

The car was way too big and my wife wouldnt even try to drive it, she was too scared, my little 86 deville she likes way better. Wish i could add air bags, abs, traction control, and some power to my car and i would keep it. Also we both hate leather interior, its always squeaking and cold or hot, and wears out and turns brown. Is the leather on the newer 99 or 00 better leather?? I like the seats in my bosses 98 cobra, they dont look like vinyl, like all these leather interiors seem cheap. Are they even leather?? or simulated and mosly vinyl anyway?? I cant tell the difference.
