I have seen a number of threads related to antenna replacement or repairs. Antennas that will not extend or retract all the way. My antenna will not extend completely. These conditions are usually caused by the antenna being bent a little. I've straightened it numerous times, but eventually the aluminum becomes so weak from bending and straightening, it will not keep a vertical line.

I just bought (ordered) a new power antenna mast from the local Chevy dealer for $28.54 +tax. They are still available. PN is 09647/22154397; Description: Mast, Tubular.

I will get it installed, and provide an update with any problems I encounter. This has got to be the better alternative to repacing the entire power unit.

I won't get the part until Monday, so everyone have a Happy New Year, and if you decide to party tomorrow night, please don't drive your Cadillac.
