Just took my ATS in for what the dealer calls a pit stop. I have a 3.6 Premium model and I asked the service tech to look into the clicking noise in the steering column. He kept it the whole day and called me to say that they needed to replace a spring. Picked it up this afternoon and lo and behold, clicking noise is gone.
I'll have to reference this when I take mine in for a looksee.

To be more precise, they called it a clocking spring

Finally, someone has the answer. This is a constant complaint through the forum. I took mine in and they found no problem, nice that I can tell them exactly what it is. Thanks for posting.
