I'm about to drop the rear cradle again for revs gift bushings and new axles. Last time I dropped it I couldn't get the damn parking brake cable disconnected, it was too tight so I ended up working on the cradle under the car which made life not so fun seeing as i was on jack stands.

I do have the factory service manual but it was not help, anybody have any tips?

I have never taken my parking brake cable off, but I think the trick is having enough slack to pull it off the holder so you can unhook it from the actuator. I would try jacking up the car such that the suspension does not drop - like underneath the differential (with a wooden block in place) or underneath the lower control arm. Once the parking brake cable was unhooked I would lower the car and rearrange the jacks and stands for the cradle drop.

Thank You Darkman!

A gentleman on the LS1 Tech forum also pointed me to disconnect by the trans crossmember.
