well, my Fleetwood is just getting worse. the "OIL PRESSURE" light stays on even at idle now. it has to warm up first though. it doesnt do anything when cold. the intake is leaking (not that air intake either). leaking coolant from the radiator. these three problems have all happened at once. i took it today to a mechanic and he is going to put something on it to see what is causing the oil pressure light. he thinks it is the strainer or the oil sending unit and not the pump itself. should i just get a new motor?

it probably is just the sending unit...shouldnt be to expensive. Then u probably need an intake manifold gasket and maybe a new radiator, maybe its just cracked? Doesnt sound like you need a new motor to me, just a little bit of upkeep and she should be fine
yeah the car sat for a long time before i got it. i think it sat for 6 months to a year. i got it at a dealership and it belonged to the owner of the shop who moved to California a year ago and i guess left it out here. anyway these are the only problems ive had from under the hood save for a leaking oil pump and rear seal. no codes though. i tried to pull them and i got -00. they changed the battery when i first got it and it might have erased any old ones it had, if any. the car is in good shape, few minor dents and dings from everyday use. it all just happened at once. ive been thinking about getting a new motor for it anyway, i am just pissed that all this is happening at once. all three of my cars have problems now. my Lincoln is getting the suspension replaced cause it blew out on me, my Deville is sucking gas something awful- if you fill it up Monday, Wednesday night or Thursday morning youll be re fueling again. and now this. i dont have the money for it all. well thats cause i gotta pay insurance next month and it is going to be well over 1500.00 bucks for all three of them. damn, sorry for the long post.
well i got her back today and it turned out to be a switch that was causing the oil to run out. it lost 2 quarts the mechanic told me. terrible. but he fixed it and she is running like a champ now.

The oil pump is inside the oil pan. It can't leak.
i dont know then. i didnt ask, he just said it was 2 quarts low because of it. go figure. its working now and thats all i care about.
