I have two classic cars, a 1956 Coupe de Ville and a 1958 Eldorado.

What company/agent do you use?

Thanks

Haggerty is great. I have 2 Buick Gran Sports and a Corvette insured with them. Claim service is quick and easy and the rates are reasonable

I checked with Hagerty and they were more expensive ($729) than American Collectors ($569). I am insuring two vehicles at stated value. 1956 Coupe deVille $40k (almost perfect) and 1958 Biarritz $60k (needs some work).

My agent, who handles my other insurance needs, could not write Hagerty, and was not sure how Hagerty would mesh with my personal umbrella. Or maybe she just did not want me with someone else. Either way, I like all my policies under one roof.

Since I just bought these two cars, I had no previous collector car insurance and Hagerty was charging me an extra $40 because of this. Really no big deal, but simpler to let my agent write me with American Collectors.

Make sure to check on driving restrictions. Some limit your driving while Haggarty doeds not.

Can you actually drive your car regularly if you have collector car insurance?

As far as my insurance company, yes, limited to 5,000 miles a year. Only supposed to go to meets, clubs, shows, events, pleasure driving.

Interesting that Hagerty does not limit. Certainly a decideing factor in getting insurance. Hmmm.

The Hagerty website allowed me to do an online quote with 12,000 miles per year on my 1979 deVille. And it was dirt cheap!

I have American Collector's on my '55. Have never had a claim, thankfully, so won't give a thumbs up or down.

I have Grundy but haven't had to use it. I can tell you that it's way cheaper than going stated value through State Farm. Thats who I had prior.
