i was looking around lookin for good prices on front brakes for the FWB. I found a site that has "rotor only" sales. I remeber reading in sum post a while back that u cant do this on our cars, but i wasnt sure if its the same thing im seeing here.
and they had rotors listed for no ABS.. does that mean ABS will not be available, or jus wont fit.

check it out

You may be looking at the FWD Fleetwood (DeVille with extra options) as all RWD cars... the rotor is part of the hub...either that, or it is listed wrong...

Hard to understand what they were describing as :"rotors only". Even on models that have the slip-on rotors, that statement makes you wonder, because you normally wouldn't replace the hub units when replacing brakes.

Maybe they meant it didn't come with brake pads. :hmm:

Do the 89's have sealed or slip on rotors? I need to do a brake job on mine. I've only had it 6mos and I'm just getting ready to do them.

Scottie, sorry, but I'm a little ignorant of your model line. Is the Brogham d'El. with the dVille line or the Fleetwood line?

Go to an online supplier that has pictures and look up the part (rotor). You will then be able to see which type it is.

I looked at PartsAmerica.com, the Fltwd line is a full rotor and hub assembly. The dVille line is the slip-on rotors.

Hope this helps.

It's the Fleetwood d'Elegance. What sights do you suggest, the ones for the local stores don't have pics.

89 RWD has a hub-rotor assembly (1 piece) Same on all 80-92 RWDs.

I don't want to push any one site over another, so I'll list a few for future reference:

The rotors for the Fleetwood have been in stock every time I needed them, so you could probably go to a local parts store and ask to see one. It may not be the one you purchase, but you could at least see what's needed and get a price range based on manufacturer and quality. Alss, I recommend replacing the wheel bearings at the same time. They aren't expensive, and I think it's good insurance. If you decide to change the bearings, make sure you get some bearing grease to pack them, because the bearings are not greased when you buy them. You will also need the grease seal that goes on the back side (inside) of the rotor.
