On Cadillac.com for the 2013 V you can order a Black Chrome Grille $870 Mod... Anyone have pictures of this or have seen this? Curious how it looks... TIA

I've been waiting to see what the black chrome grill looks like. Think I will opt for the bottom section only. Thanks for posting.

Love black chromeReally? Even if it's Plasti-dip smoke? I've seen the blachrome finish in person. Too bland, it doesn't pop or look clean...

havent seen plasti dip smoke, but I know i love black chrome

my car is silver, im not a huge fan of blacking out all the chrome its nice to see something different

I just looked at a pic of plastidip smoke- looks gray/anthracite looking to me

----------

I wanted some engine parts done in black chrome, no one would do them. THe rim services are basically a plastic coating and they will only do rims.

so I did myself. I loved it.

I like black chrome myself. But not on mesh. It doesn't show well. Too much shine, I guess. If it's got shine, it looks too close to straight chrome. It's why I went with a straight black when powdercoating my V1 steel mesh grilles. Gloss black would've been hard to decipher with the eyes...

I am waiting to see what the part number / Luke's price is. They told us this would be available shortly, 9 months ago.

Who is Luke? Is he th guy with the best oem parts prices?

Luke is a parts guy from Lindsay Cadillac (see the ad cubes on the right ... I've got an ad cube there too)

Here's my best price on the Black Chrome grille kit
#22901748
$799.00 - list price
$671.16 - forum price

the discount on accessories doesn't seem like much compared to service parts because the normal markup to the list price is way less on accessories than it is for normal service parts

That should be an option offered by the factory on all colors. If you can get black wheels, then you should be able to get the matching grill.

it actually is a factory order-able accessory aka LPO accessory (your sales person should know what that means)
basically it comes to your dealer with the factory grille and during the PDI they install the grille you ordered the car with
what happens to the factory grille is anyone's guess (probably ends up on ebay or something)

that's exactly what happened with the white car in my pictures earlier in this thread

the owner-to-be (who backed out of the sale and lost their deposit) ordered the vehicle with red calipers, white diamond paint, satin graphite wheels and the black chrome grille

the other options were factory options but the black chrome grille was an LPO accessory
the car and the black chrome grille were shipped to us simultaneously and when we checked in the car we put the black chrome grille on

So Chris, why is the LPO option on a new car $870 and aftermarket ordering through you SOOOO much cheaper? I know you hook us up, but even the list price is cheaper. I ordered this option on my new V and should have just ordered from you! And i'm making sure I get my standard grille back. Ain't no way i leave the dealership without it!

the only thing i can think of is that if you order it with the car then it gets covered by the factory bumper-to-bumper warranty while it only gets covered by the standard 12 month parts warranty if you order it after the fact ...

as it is right now though we are having a hard time even getting them due to supply not being able to keep up with demand
(or something ... i haven't been able to get a straight answer from GM besides that there's a hold and only LPO orders are going through)

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply Chris. Was similar when they reserved the yellow calipers for new cars before you guys could get them readily. I feel better now!

Is this for both front grills?

RippyPartsDept

yes, it is a grille kit ... upper and lower not sold separately

That really isn't all that bad of a price. What about black chrome for the window surrounds and the trim at the trunk lid for a coupe!? :P
