Greetings, was wondering if anyone would have any knowledge of tire size. My 68 CD has some modern 235/75/15 whitewalls on it. The original specs for size do not correspond to the modern tire designations. I think these tires are actually taller than specified, mainly because the speedo seems slower than I feel I am going down the road. Two tires are bad and I was trying to figure out what to replace them with reasonably. I had thoughts of getting some used ones off of a junkyard car in good shape but nothing seems to use such a tall tire.
Also, here is a picture of the wheels on it. They appear to be some type of generic chevrolet wheel that has the four open slots around the perimiter. The factory wheels are in the trunk with the hubcaps. I was interested in putting some half moon type caps on these wheels but am unsure about what caps are the correct fitment. Older GM stuff is all new to me.

Original tires measure was 9 x 15 whitewall bias-ply, which matches with 235/75r15 for modern radial tires so your tires are perfect. Nowadays tires use to have a lower profile (better drivability and precision but less comfort). You can still find several makes selling this measure for whitewalls. Check this thread; it will help you to find new tires in this measure (This is the last page of 24): http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/rwd-19xx-1984-deville-fleetwood-1985/181612-official-whitewall-thread-24.html

Thank You, just read through that whole thread lol. Looks like the good choices might be discontinued now though. I looked up the enduro 75 on the manufacturer website and they are there so maybe not. I think they looked pretty sporty compared to these hankooks with the pencil width stripes.

I got a set if your interested of chrome steel spoked Cadillac wheels complete with Cadillac chrome center caps and Firestone radials in thin white with about 500 miles on them.
They were on my '68 Deville before I turned it into a mild kustom.

Well only problem would be shipping costs probably pretty stinkin high

We could ship via Bus, Amtrak, or with those companies that ship Snowbirds cars down to FLA. I know a few guys who ship Bikes to Daytona Bike week. I can see if they will take them.

What is your price? You won't find tires better at that price.

That may be a fair value but I'm not able to sink near that much money into the car right now for wheels
