: Backup Cam, Bluetooth (2011 CTS Coupe)

Hi there! New CTS Coupe owner here, 2011 base model with basically no options at all...

I'm adding the Escort SmartMirror2 for my GPS. It also has bluetooth and a backup cam option, but wanted to run some things by you and if they are possible I'd like to buy some parts...

1). Can you add Bluetooth to a CTS coupe that didn't have it originally. If so, what parts would I need for this and how much?

2). Would it be possible to integrate an OEM backup cam with the grid lines that turn with the steering wheel (to show where you're tracking) to be shown on the SmartMirror2? If so, what parts would I need and how much?

I have a history of heavily modding my cars so this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship! :cloud9:

short answer: no

long answer: yes, but i can't really help that much beyond being a source for parts once you know what parts you want/need

see this thread for the most information about adding a backup camera
this one for a rear view mirror with camera (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/2008-cadillac-cts-general-discussion/252619-how-install-rear-view-backup-camera.html)

for bluetooth there's a few options
check out these search results (https://www.google.com/#q=2008+cts+add+bluetooth+site:cadillacforums.com&fp=1)
there's pages upon pages of useful (and not very useful info)
basically you might be able to do a oem onstar/VCIM upgrade or just add the bluetooth antenna
or look into an aftermarket solution like a parrot device or a costar onstar replacement

none of these are supported by GM because they are factory install options and that's why i can't really help
i have no more info than has already been posted and actually experienced by other members

Thanks Chris, sorry for the stupid questions, still learning the ins and outs of Caddy's

No problem at all.

Let me know if you need any more help either finding info or parts. If I don't know the answer I can usually point you in the right direction.

I learn a lot here too, especially when it comes to the mods and custom stuff.
