Hello all and happy holidays, I am attempting to change my fuel filter. When I released the inlet side fuel came out. With 13 gallons of fuel in the tank, how much is going to spill? I have put 25K on this filter and would like to change it. Would it be better to wait till the tank is at empty? Thank-you.

You're only going to lose a little bit of gas, whats already pressurized in the
lines. when you get the filter in, cycle the ignition on a few times before you start the engine to pressurize the system back up. :)
Thank-you. I believe I will try it again, only this time in the driveway away from the house.

When changing an "in-line" fuel filter like yours, I usually suggest removing the gas cap first to relieve pressure in the tank, then re-installing it. This usually minimizes the amount of fuel you lose. I'd also use a drip-pan under it since gas will damage your driveway unless it's concrete.
And If you dont want to get gas in your eye(it stings belive me),open your hood and remove the eng. cover. under the cover you will be able to see the fuel rail. It is black hard plastic or if you had the recall,it is shiny metal. On the rail you will see a black plastic cap (LFront I belive). remove the cap and press the schrader valve in with a small screwdriver. Use a rag to catch the gas. This will relive ALL the 48 PSI of fuel pess. in the system. you might not have to take the cover off,If you can see the valve. just cycle the key to get press. back.
Outstanding! Those are 2 very good suggestions. I never would have thought of either one. This is a great site!! Thanks again.
