: Removal of chrome pillar covers

Has anyone successfully removed the after market chrome pillar covers? I'm interested in knowing the best way to remove them, and also what you'd be left with after removal. Would the original pillars look like they've never been covered, or would they be marked or stained in some way?
I assume heat, and a lot of it, would eventually soften the adhesive, but if there's a more efficient way, I'd like to know what it is.

If you use heat to soften the glue and the fishing line in a sawing motion, you should only be left with a little glue residue. Use goo-off with a rag to remove the residue. You should be left pillars that look untouched, unless they were installed in some other fashion.

My biggest concern was what the pillars would look like after removing the chrome overlays.
Thanks for the information!
