Not to beat a dead horse, but in an effort to get an answer to a question in my splash guard thread from GM reps, I am putting my question in a new thread. I apologize in advance for this redundancy.

QUESTION: If the Buick LaCrosse shares much with the XTS, are the wheel wells and the immediate area of the body very similar (so it seems from pictures). If they are the same, wouldn't the Splash Guards designed for the 2013 Buick also fit the XTS (P/N 19172938 Rear and P/N 19172935 Front)? If that isn't the case, when will cadillac follow Buick with their own designed splash guards?

Katie aka Customer Services contacted me by email and is looking into this with her tech contacts. For those interested in Splash Guards, keep watching as I will send the reply to the forum as soon as it gets to me.

I am guessing that they will not fit. Most model specific mud guards are molded to fit the sheetmetal of the car. Unless the XTS and the LaCrosse the same body panels (which I don't think they do since they look different) I would think they aren't interchangeable.

You may be right. Hopefully, Katie will get us a definitive yea or nay.

Thank you for your patience, CAPT Mike! I unfortunately don't have a definitive answer as yet, but I will continue to check my resources next week.

Under typical circumstances, it may take up to two business days for me to research properly, but unfortunately that time frame has to be slightly extended due to the holiday early next week. I apologize for the inconvenience, but I'm going to be out of the office through 1/1/2013. I will be sure to email you 1/2 when I return, however!

Stiill no word? How about when will Cadillac make their own for the XTS?

I'm telling you, the LaCrosse and the XTS have different shaped fenders and quarter panels. I am confident they aren't interchangeable.

You may be quite correct; and, if so, maybe my inquiry will stimulate Cadillac to produce a set for the XTS.

I guess Katie gave up. Gohawk63 may be right; as an aside, I have an '04 Corvette and checy doesn't make splash guards for that vehicle (C5's); they do make them for the C6's. I have adapted a C6 set for my C5 and it really looks factory. The point being that if the LaCrosse guards were close in fitment with some minor mods perhaps they would fit the XTS.

CAPT Mike, while I unfortunately could not find any definitive answers on my end of things, I'm still happy to contact dealers to ask their specialized technicians for their input. I sent you a private message through the forum this morning, and please do send me a PM if you would like me to follow up for you! My business hours are 8am to 4:30pm EST, Monday through Friday.

Not to be beating a seemingly dead horse, but are we XTS owners to resign ourselves to the fact that Cadillac has not and will not have splash guards / mud flaps available for our vehicles??? If true, very disappointing!

Apparently, it is all about the money. My take is that Cadillac will not design a splash guard that looks good if they feel that their bottom line is not increased sufficiently to warrant their investment.
