: 03 Escalade needs an exhaust!

like the title says, my 03 needs an exhaust... Well, it doesn't need it, but i'd like it! I'm new here and could use some input! My name's Bill and i have an 03 Base 6.0, bought her 3 months ago with 76k miles. I did some searching but the few threads i found asking for opinions seem to be pretty old so i'm hoping there are some newer items out that are worthwhile.

Basically, I would like to bring out a tad more sound, not too much since this is my daily. My weekend driver is already loud enough for everyone. I'd prefer a dual, something that comes out on both sides just behind the wheel rather than straight back but the factory look is fine as well. I know horsepower gains are going to be pretty marginal, i'm not looking for nor expecting much in that area, i understand its an SUV and not a sports cars. It'll have the SLP Intake on next week if that makes a difference for sound. Any suggestions at all? Is there direct bolt on exhausts, cat back or axel-back that can accomplish this? My price can be flexible so all opinions anyone has are more than welcome!

Since im new, this is her:

and my weekend baby just for the hell of it:

Thanks for any info guys!

Corsa touring would be perfect.

The touring is more dulled down than the sport i'm assuming. I like that twin tip on the side. Is it twin tips on the p/s and d/s or just the p/s?

They only sell one corsa kit now they dont give an option any more.. The tip is only a dual out the passenger side. here is a look at mine!

it looks good. im looking for minimal cabin noise but a decent exterior note if thats even possible. I see others on ebay like JBA, CGS, Gibson, Borla and Magnaflow, none of them worth it? Wheres a good place to pick these things up from??

I personally was looking at the borla system! There was a guy in my town who totaled his denali few years back an asked him what he had said it was corsa.. Started looking into corsa an pulled the trigger! My corsa kit doesnt have any more drone inside the truck than the factor had.. Normal driving you can hardly tell its there with windows down. When i smash on the gas it really comes alive and sounds awesome! People dont expect a cadillac escalade to sound like it does! I use summit racing, jegs for all my perfomance parts! As far as the otherbranda i dont know if they are worth it or fit good. I havent used there products.

Here is corsa i know its denali's but its the same kit as a escalade same motors so here is a idea of what its like

i actually really enjoy that one. That could be the one. That's the Corsa Touring? or Corsa Sport? Im lost in the american modding world lol i know basics but nothing beyond that. I did the crap out of my jap cars and know everything i need to but i've never tackled a truck before. Thanks for those clips by the way!

Corsa only sells the "sport" now! They quit selling the "touring" im guess be cause nobody bought it.. Your welcome for the clips! I ordered my corsa threw summit racing because i trust them! I didnt look around to find it any cheaper..

does the one from the denali or tahoe fit? i would pick up a used one if i could find it from that forum assuming it fit

EDIT: another thought, for what im looking for, maybe just a muffler? Flowmaster series 50's usually nice. any thoughts on that? I can always add a nice tip later

Most gm parts are interchangeable between models(except shocks and certain modules)

6.0l has a dual inlet an single outlet muffler, tahoes come with 5.3l which has a single inlet single outlet muffler.. Denali with a 6.0l would be the same! So make sure you take that into consideration before buying!

ok cool! i figured the denali would work, thanks!

No thoughts on just doing a muffler though?

Yep like I said most parts are interchangeable just certain parts work for a specific engine size(6.0 to 6.0) like the other poster said

Stuff like doors and certain body panels can be swapped also(just have to swap the body cladding)

thanks for all the input, but do any of the other exhaust have little to no drone besides corsa? The drone issue is kind of important. I dont mind doing a custom one either, its just hard to tell which muffler to get also. flo-pro, magnaflow, cherry bombs ect, any input on that would be great. I found one touring but its in Jersey and unfortunately im in Oklahoma right now. chances are he wont have it when i drive by to get back to NY any more and the guy doesnt really want to ship it.

I havent heard any of these on a 6.0 but i have on the 5.3 and the flowmasters magnaflow all have drone id imagine it would be the same or worse with the 6.0.. But i THINK borla has no drone.. I live in oklahoma.. Where you at? Might be able to hear mine if your near by.

I've seen some places online that still have the touring exhaust for sale. That's the one I'd prefer to have.

autoplicity still shows that they have them but ive read a lot of bad reviews about them and its still $850. thats a lot of coin to risk a lot of hassel

Id call before ordering to see if they actually have it! Or if they just havent changed their site

no bad reviews on the exhaust just problems with autoplicity. complaints on shipping time, wrong items, problems exchanging and "false" inventory for lack of a better word.

so as a final i just wanted to throw it out there that i went with the Gibson Swept Side. I settled on the appearance since i would have a dual exhaust but that wasn't that big of a deal to me. The Gibson has ZERO drone at any speed. Gives you a little extra noise in the rear while not affecting cabin comfort. Which is what i was mainly looking for. You can tell its not stock. Installation was done at a local muffler shop here in OKC, (turned out to be cheaper than NY so that worked) and it only took 20 minutes for them to do

If anyone is interested, here's a quick clip. Its a tad windy but it gets the exterior noise across.

EDIT: Not sure why it keeps posting my videos upside down. Its right side up on my computer, facebook and my phone.... stupid photobucket

Looks good, I would like to hear it and see it sometime in person! I remembered you like in OKC and I live in NW OKC so it would be cool to hear it as well. How much did it set you back? Let me guess installed at Discount Muffler? Looks good all the same!
