Hello everyone,

I am considering going from the 22 inches wheels to 19. Any major foreseeable drawbacks as result?
I am running an Executive Driving Service and I am concerned of handling and safety as much as passenger comfort.

I am doing a lot of transfers from airport to a ski resort, thus about 200 km snowy mountain road.

I want to fit my rides with winter tires and on 285/45R22 there are not too many choices. I want to get some Michelin winter tires but they are available only on R19 not 22

Do they even make 19" rims in a 6x5.5 pattern?

You can get 20s, I had them on the Denali and put some 305/50 tires on them but they did rub a tiny bit and they were street tires.

So maybe a 20" wheel with a 285/50 winter tire will be the best combo of ride quality and safety ... the upshot of 20s is that there are CK oem accessory wheels that size that not only offer oem quality, but you can also get the proper Caddy center caps for.

----------

These are the different 20" GM accessory versions (some have ceased prod. but can still be found): CK370, CK925, CK928, CK945, CK948, CK951, CK994, CK997 (CK928s would probably look the best with winter/snow tires)

Then you have the stock Denali and LTZ 20s but of course those look odd on an Escalade.

I would get 18's or 20's, my GL550 has 19's and your tire choice is VERY limited. I run 18's because I need tires with traction like these

I have to say, those 18's look pretty good with those tires.

They are LT275/65/18, they are E rated and wear like steel, and are surprisingly noise free on the highway, I may have a set for sale that was on one of my trucks for about 600 miles

Mine would be wheels and tires, but it would cost way to much to ship from coast to coast, I got a better price from a local Goodyear dealer vs Tirerack
