View Full Version : How to use mp3 for iPod?

I just bought an 09 escalade and in my 08 Tahoe I had an mp3 plug in right next to the nav and in the escalade I can't find it at all. Can anyone help? I saw online that some are USB adapters in the console near the lighter outlet but mine doesn't have it. So if anyone can help figure out how to plug my iPhone in it would be a big help, thanks.

Use the audio/video Jacks in the back behind the center console. They are used for the DVD player I guess but I bought an adaptor that plugs into them and then my iPhone. Aux input

Ok thanks but is there any way that you just plug in the mp3 cord like in most cars?

The escalade doesn't have a direct aux output. But this way works just as well.

And where did you buy yours? And it will work on iPods and and iPhone 4's right? Thanks for answering my stupid questions.

Diamond, you can buy an adapter to use your iPhone. I bought one an ran it from the back of my aftermarket stereo head unit, under the console and into my center console headrest. That way you can't see the wires and the phone is out of sight out of mind. Everything is controlled from your radio touch screen.

I have owned my EXT for a few months now and love it. The only issue I have is when I plug my iPhone in using the rear RCA jacks I hear a whining sound as I drive. When I am driving I can hear a whining or static sound through my speakers. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or is this an isolated issue?

FlipEXT, have you brought this to your dealer's attention? I'd be happy to check my resources for any relevant information. Please send me the last eight of your VIN anytime via email (Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com).

Do not go to the Dealer complete waste of time. What you need is a noise filter. Here is a link to one on eBay
