: The Return of Lego Stoney

11-05-12, 07:35 PM
Well I'm back, its been awhile I know. A couple years ago I launched my own space program. I ended up having one of those "Major Tom" deals and was lost out there for quite some time. But me and the shuttle made it home a couple weeks ago. The CIA has just released the photos of my return.
I heard that your space program is so dead you had to have a Toyota tow your shuttle to some kids museum, well our truck will tow ours just fine too and its made in sunny Florida!
Well the first thing that needed done was to fix the computers , I had spilled beer all over them trying to dodge parts of your space shuttle. When that happened I ended up lost in space.
Then it was off to fix the Mexico arm , we cant afford that Canada crap like you guys.
The CIA sent me another satellite to put up to keep an eye on Florian, seems since we are the only space program left and Florian is still terrorizing everyone they needed my shuttle.
Coarse it didnt work right , so me and Lego Nasa dude had to fix it
Ready for launch:
Then Lego Stig dropped by with the Ferarri Daytona from Miami Vice , and things got real weird
This damn chicken ran out in the middle of the damn road , time for dinner
So here I am just after dropping off the chicken at the Phoo-King Japanese resturant
Well thats about all for now , I may start another tour of the US soon incase any of you people think you can handle a drunken lego hanging out with you for a few days.

I did a lot of custom Lego building in my younger days it was a lot of fun

11-05-12, 10:19 PM
Why were Lego Chamus and Lego Murdock not invited?

11-05-12, 10:45 PM
Where'd you get that shuttle model? It's badass!!

Lego Space Shuttle Expedition

Set #10231

11-05-12, 11:33 PM
actually mine is older , its this one:
i redid the rear landing gear as on both versions you could see it when it was attached to the tank and boosters and i didnt like that. So mine are hidden , it took 2 days to build , worked in it for 4 hours a day ,1200 parts ...
They made a hubble telescope that could go in the bay , but i never got it ...

here it is on its launch pad that i made for it :

I may have to hunt that down on Amazon!

Damn! $100 bucks.....time to start saving :D I love legos, and I'm a sucker for Space Shuttles.

11-05-12, 11:39 PM
if you LOVE legos and the shuttle then it is worth every penny. but trust me , its one of the few sets that can piss one off if they dont screw with legos alot. the instructions for this set are the worst. plus there is so many parts your always thinking one is missing ....
ive built it twice now , just for fun

I prefer the one I grew up with.

Very much later on I got this one too.

While I typically built Castles (With shockingly gruesome and morbid detail, as basically every toy or plaything from my childhood ended up with) I occasionally ended up with sets like this, that hardly contributed to the construction of castles altogether.

I always found that the greatest toys allowed you to do basically whatever you wanted with them and simply tear them down and rebuild them in a better fashion. By the time I was twelve, my mechanical tendencies were put to use making simple machines, preferably without any electronic parts and repairing old world clocks, of which there were plenty of to take apart to research and study in the small towns of rural PA. Then I ended up making more complicated pneumatic and hydraulic devices and eventually incorporated remote controls and animatronic functions to my inventions.

Interestingly, at the present moment, I essentially drive a truck for a living.

Whoa I was just on the Lego site, looks like the child hood fire may be rekindled

11-06-12, 12:34 AM
aint nothing wrong with that !

11-06-12, 12:38 AM
My inner 5 year old is always looking for an excuse to come out :D. How'd you mod the landing gear?

11-06-12, 12:43 AM
ill post some pics tomorrow when the camera has a charge on it ....it wont be as "sturdy" but mine rarely is on its landing gear so ill take some fragileness over seeing the wheels when its on the pad

driving a truck eh? hopefully i will be soon also. just waiting on the va to send my approval then its off to roadmaster ..and then hopefully swift trucking

11-06-12, 01:16 AM
Good luck man. Hopefully you get the job.

Sounds good. I'm picky about crap like that too  The real shuttle didn't have its wheels out either!

11-06-12, 07:29 PM
Looks like I'll have to go and figure out where Lego Murdock got off too. Maybe even snap his picture!

There he is now!

(He's sorry about the crappy cell-phone pics!)

11-06-12, 10:47 PM
Lego Murdock has quite the SWEET train :D

11-07-12, 01:13 AM
Lego Murdock has quite the SWEET train :D

It's crazy detailed too! It's the first train Lego has released that has cranking pistons and rods on the sides.

He showed up by train because he couldn't find his RV/Snow Plow. Maybe he'll have to have a look around tomorrow.

(He also says thanks to Stoney for bringing a legit Lego thread to the forums! :cloud9: Are there any other Lego Forums Members out there?!?)

12-06-12, 06:07 PM
Neat. My Lego town is just overrun with Zombies. Has been since I built it and put it on the shelf years ago. Maybe it's overrun with dust too, these days.

I have waited for this day...FOR TOO LONG. Basically everyone I know has sent me that trailer in some fashion over the last few days. Apparently, I am supposed to go and see it.

Lego Chamus has been busy lately. Almost as much so as his real-world counterpart. Lego Chamus' life does not contain quite as many explosions, viral outbreaks and gunfire as his real world counterpart, but just as much terror and suspense, if not in the form of menacing plastic figures.
