My apologies, I have no idea why I can't upload pics today. Done it before, but it tells me I am over my kb limit. the pics are downsized smaller than others I have posted previously.

FTR, The VOLT is damn cool. First 160 miles and used 1.2 gallons of gas.........But I tell you what, this forums is WAY more my style than the Volt forums. Wow are they drinking the overly GREEN kool-aide :helpless:

Thanks, The Volt is like a video game trying to see how much gas you can save. However, had to take the V out for a beat today and tell her the new bitch in the garage is still #2.

It's still a sorry electric car, but at least it's produced by an American manufacturer. It's still crude technology and not the future.

I don't know Jud. It shits and gets in sport mode, handles very well, and so far has gone 195 miles on 1.4 gallons of gas and $4 of charging. Its nothing like a Prius.

I am not out to change anyones opinion of the Volt. I feel the we are a long way from alterantive fuels/affordable electric hybrids. I do not agree with the green movement at all, as it is political treehugger propoganda and green is far too expensive economically. Alternative vehicles will get there someday.

I'm not being critical of you, I'm just ready when we are finally going beyond the internal combustion engine which has served us well for at least a century. Hybrids are stupid Rube Goldberg contraptions. They are not even worthy of honorable mention in the technology race. At least I won't have to deal with these awful intermediaries much longer. Long live V-8's!

I didnt feel you were being critical Jud. You and I probably think a lot alike.

If anything these intermediaries may help keep the V8 around by helping out the fleet CAFE standard.

Exactly. I am not sweating a bit about the new CAFE standards. Long live the Volt! Because then we can still have Vs.

Good point. I guess that the "greenie weenies" are as irritating to me as the crude hybrid technology being marketed as a means to "save the planet."

Funny thing is Jud that I wanted a vanity plate for the Volt........

"TREEH8R" Its not that I truly hate trees, I actually like trees a lot, but I am not at all into the "Green" movement. Its economically irresponsible and I do not buy into the hype of all the radical green speak propoganda or Al Gore and the millions he has made perpetuating enviromental lies to help generate his business in selling carbon credits to cleanse the guilt of those who pollute the most. BTW Al Gore pollutes more than 99% of the population.

So I gather we are probably close to the same line of thinking, The Volt is just a cool car to me that saves me enough money in gas to pay for the lease, so therefore FREE daily driver, keeps miles down on my CTS-V and acutally the Volt is pretty fun to drive.

I heard it best described by Mike Rowe (dirty jobs and Ford commercial guy). "Green" is impractical and too expensive, "Brown" living is reality and is simply using common sense. We all know gas is not going away, we all know its wrong to litter, Recycling is too expensive, don't pour chemicals down the drain, turn the lights off if you are not using them, Don't let the hose run and waste water blah blah blah.

I think now would be an opportune time for the "My other car is a CTS-V" license plate frame. :)

Larry,

I see you on the Volt forums as well! It's nice to have a familiar name on both forums. I LOVE my Volt. It's the best car I have ever had. In over 2,000 miles, we have used maybe a few gallons of gas. We run it mainly on battery and it has saved us HUNDREDS of dollars on gas. You can't beat the lease payment on the Volt as well. It has plenty of power, handles great and has a way more advanced infotainment system over my CTS-V.

Twin,

Loving the VOLT. Very nice car and the MPG is insane. HOWEVER, I can't stand the Volt forums. Too many idiots taking the green thing a little too far. That dbag lagodaboy is a little too full of himself. I want to find a volt forum less political and really just about the car and technology. I want to learn about mods and increasing performance in a new medium (electric), and adding appearance mods to make it different....... hmmmm a forum much like THIS ONE :grouphug: !

Anyways I am so happy to have a Volt and a V. I could not think of a more f'd up combo :halo: and :lildevil: and I am enjoying it a ton!

Funny on the license plate! I thought about doing something like H8GAS or, ntaguzlr but then we just picked "Volt" I chickened out.. I did however get a funny one for our new Explorer sport twin turbo, I got one of the cat/dog plates that has a cat and dog on the side, then I put "YUMMMY" . lol so with a quick = in between the cat/dog and yummy, it looks hilarious! I was going to park it outside the Chinese food shop down the road for some pictures..

out of 3000 miles we used 16 gallons of gas so far, I do like the 5 gallon half tank fill ups..

I've got a Volt and V wagon too.
My 2012 Volt is red/natural leather with polished wheels. It has personalized plates that say REVOLTN. My wife drives it 140 miles a day and we've already got over 40,000 miles on it. We're getting 70mpg on gas and its about 50% gas usage.
My 2013 CTS-V wagon is white with grey, Recaros and A-6. It has personalized plates that say BLN AWAY. it's my pleasure driver. I ordered it in Sep and got it the day after Thanksgiving. I think I've put about 1000 miles on it.
My daily driver is a 2010 GMC Yukon XL Denali. I was going to supercharge it but decided to buy the V instead.
