Hey guys, I'm about to finalize a purchase on a 2012 CTS-V Wagon and wanted to make sure I wasn't overpaying.

Basically I'm paying 59k (also 1k to ship it back) for a 2012 CTS-V Wagon (Black) with 4k miles on it and 3 1/2 years B2B warranty/maintenance left over.

Car seems to be in very good condition except for a few minor scratches. An equivalent optioned 2013 new would be 73k MSRP.

What do you guys think?

Seems very fair, especially with the low miles.

Is it optioned how you want it? color?

There are two at Martin now. One is white, 28K miles, and about $54K (probably could deal a bit, but just my guess).

That martin white one is odd. It was a mfr vehicle and it has 28k on it... and they paid 48k for it according to the prices thread. I think they paid too much for it and are overvaluing it

Knock a few K off.

From my negotiations with him, he was pretty firm on the price. Best offer I've gotten for a new 2012 within driving distance has been 63.6k at this point. So considering I have to pay for shipping for the used one, I'd only have to spend 3.6k more for a new one as opposed to a used (abeit mostly new) one.

Sales in these cases kind of suck since so much of the money gets absorbed by sales taxes that both the seller has to loose out on and the buyer has to pay out.

I almost bought a 2012 for $57.5K (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120979384201) Probably would have jumped on it if it was $56K since I was at $55K and they were at $57.5K. But I'm glad I got my 2011 BDE for $51.5K.

Ref the other 2012s:

I'm sure this one sold for under $60K.

Yeah i was looking at those Auction ones before. Those were both Mfr vehicles I believe which is why dealerships could sell them at lower prices.

We actually had a similar 2011 (previous lease vehicle) sold here in Glendale with 10k miles for 53k.

That palm beach one is a pretty good close reference thanks. Based on that I think my price isn't too bad for the used one.
I was mainly concerned since I was hearing about people getting some great deals on 2012 new from the lot but I'm still leaning towards the used one. With all the better deals on the new 2012's on the lots, my deal certainly doesn't seem as good as it once was though.

As for the pictures, do you guys think I should be concerned about any of the scratches? I haven't seen it yet in person but had relatives take a look at it and post photos for me. I'm flying out to finalize the purchase next weekend.

Looks like I'm finalizing my purchase this weekend. Any final thoughts guys? I guess my main concern is I don't want to get ripped off by going the used car route.

Did you go on Auto Trader and Cars.com to see what that year is going for (asking price)? When looking for my coupe I saw 2012 wagons that were much cheaper then what you are paying....

yeah i've been looking at autotrader for a few months. The cheaper ones I saw were mfr vehicles. There don't seem to be too many used 2012's out there.
