If they're truly 6000k, they shouldn't be purple at all. I have 6000k lows, and 5000k high beams. The 6000k is the perfect balance of white with a hint of blue at an angle, imo. Anything higher than 6k is blue, then purple, and looks like a total ricer. At that point, someone should just take your CTS away from you.
Not really, because the higher up the Kelvin range, the more actual lighting performance that you lose. Why do you think that the OEM's use 4300k-5000k..................because they have the highest lighting output.
Granted, yours don't look bad for 12000k (I thought they'd look A lot worse), but in my opinion striking the balance between lighting output and looks is optimal with 4300k-6000k, with my choice being 4300k. To each their own though. Some people would rather look cool than see better.
With 55w hid kits, some of the color washes out, if you have a ballast that actually puts out 55w. So in reality. 12000k kit will look like 10000k, and 10000k will look like 8000k and so on.
Which is why I don't understand why 12000k makes no sense. This has been covered plenty of times
In other threads. But back to your original question, Phillips is a very good brand, just be careful, a lot of knockoffs out there.
ajazolino,
the photo you posted does not prove anything. It looks like somebody assebled some HID's in a garage to conduct "test" in not very scientific way. I woul dnot trust it.
But you are right, back to original question: there are two brands I woul dgo with - Philips and Osram/Sylvania. I trust them both (especially that I met a guy who develop the original HID's for Sylvanaia ).
I agree I had 12k before and.very little light output compared to the 6k but it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not its to ones liking just like limo tinted windows or factory 20 percent and so on but if u boost up the wattage the light will be much brighter most hid kits are 35w while the 55w are available they are not recommended due to excessive heat
Another issue could be you would need a relay kit to supply more power to the ballasts them selves had this issue was a bad flicker but went away once I installed this kit
