Getting ready to put some new pads on but would like to upgrade to a higher end better pad. Any advise on some good high end better stopping pads that anyone has experience with? Feedback is greatly appreciated!!

I am in the same dilemma too. I have narrowed it down to EBC Ultimax black pads or Performance Friction Carbon Metallic. I have used performance friction in the past and never had a problem. I am tempted by EBC because they make a quality setup for cars in various compounds.

Are the pads for 2002~2006 models the same as the newer 2007~2012 models? I was given a pair of the newer ones and just wondering if anyone knows if they are the same.

Hawk LTS. It's my replacement pad of choice on trucks/SUVs.

I (http://www.hawkperformance.com/truck/lts.php) also put a set of EBC yellow stuff truck/SUV pads on a friend's Avalanche early this summer. He was pleased with the upgrade, low dust, great braking.

A couple of good suggestions for SUV pads. Hope that helps.

I put a set of Hawk LTS pads on all four wheels and it seems much improved over whatever was on there, probably AC delco's as the last guy always had the dealer do his work for him. Lower dust and better stopping power.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with your choice. Are you putting on new rotors or just getting the factory rotors turned?

Just turning to knock off any glaze or impurities. The rotors are good..the pads are about 85% gone...noticed it when I was swapping to the 22" rims. Figured it was a good time to change/upgrade. Expensive pads but I expect they will be worth it.

OK...the new EBC Yellow Stuff pads are installed. I am VERY pleased. I didn't expect such a dramatic difference. It's as if the overall braking capability of the vehicle increased by 50%. I highly recommend this product.
