: Emblem removal

When I bought my 2002 S-10 Xtreme, I brought it home and was able to literally pry and pull the emblems and black adhesive off as the black double stick adhesive was still soft.

But, my CTS is 4 years old. So, how can I remove the emblems on the trucnk and the GM emblem on the sides?

I've heard of using fishing line to cut the adhesive, but the adhesive is still on the body.

What ever I use, it can't hurt the paint.

I have heard of acetone and a light hand buff and wax afterwards I removed mine by the fishing line method and a auto body eraser worked perfect previous cars I had done the same but used rubbing alcohol and a rag took a while and dulled the paint but paste wax shined it back up

Use heat from a hair dryer, NEVER a heat gun. Get is as hot as reasonably possible and then use the fishing line. Be sure to wash the area BEFORE beginning work to avoid scratches from the dirt. Use goo gone, acetone, whatever. When done wash again.
