When i go to pull away from my house in the morning, i have a weird grindig sound when i give it any more than a touch on the gas. It goes away within 5 minutes but im curious as to what it could be. Its an 07 awd sts with the 3.6

Is it a continuous sound? Or only when accelerating? If continuous, is suspect a frozen brake caliper. I've had them go bad like that. The pistons in the caliper are retracting the pads from the rotor. If it's been doing it long enough, it could wear the pads out on that particular rotor, giving you the grinding.

It's not more like a rattling is it?? Bc that could be timing chain

Its only when accelerating. By the end of the street it goes away though

Let the car warm up before you drive it and stand outside of it and listen for the noise if you hear a rattle its the timing chain like truckin said and check your oil, it's probably low

Might want to try the CTS forum if your listed vehicle is correct.

Mr Carter, he said it was a 07 STS AWD 3.6L in his post, just a heads up!
