My dad is getting his 2005 Mustang hopefully soon and he wants vanity plates, but can't decide. Anyone got any suggestions?

hmm...not sure. im going to be shopping for a new car this summer too. i have it boiled down to these:

dodge magnum R/T (once on used market),
mustang GT (once on used market),
2000 cadillac DTS,
2000-ish trans-am WS6,
pontiac GTO (once on used market),
cadillac CTS-V...i freakin' wish, no way i can get that one for under 30k.

vanity plates for your fathers mustang? i couldn't tell you there. i don't know the man and his preferences.

when i am finished with installing the turbo for my 91' seville, it will probably be something like "turbo49" or similar.

Well I mean give us some ideas of the direction hes going with it. Ive always said that if you want Vanity plates, but dont know what to put on them, you really dont need them to begin with, I always wanted "NOTDADS" for my 01 Caddy for example. But he might have ideas you havent told us about, or a general thing he likes. Tell us!!

Its hard to think up a good vanity plate. You don't want to rush it and end up having one that makes you think "WHat the hell was going through my head that day :helpless: ", every time you see it. I remember driving into NYC one day when I say some guy with a vanity plate that said " IM DAVE". That was one of the greatest I've ever seen. Good luck.

We're pretty much looking to do something about the car, no personal things. We came up with "STANG" which I find to be cliche. Then he came up with "AJMSTNG," his initals and "'Stang." He also wanted "MYBABY2" since his first Mustang was totaled and he always refered to it as his "baby." Our focus for the theme of the plates are the car, no personal hobbies or interests. The car is a darkish red, GT, 4.6L V8 5-spd and NJ allows 7 digits in a plate. Pretty much if you had one and wanted vanity plates, what would you put?

If I was to get a vanity plate for my mustang, it would probably say something like " UBRSTNG " Uber Stang for short...hehe. I have a picture of it somewhere. Here it is, I found it. I would definitely give it some serious thought, you don't want to pick something and end up regretting it. I'm sure you'll think up something great. Damn, almost forgot. It's a '66.

SLW STNG (Slow Mustang)
MTHR FKR (Since he's your dad, it's technically true)
WNT RACE (Wont Race, unless he will...)

I dunno, the Mustang is so cliche on plates, you almost have to go personal...

The best vanity plates, are the ones that don't need a decoder ring to figure out.

MUSTANG is 7 letters (but good luck). So is PONYCAR. Or MY PONY. Or 05 PONY. Or 40YEARS.

Most of these are likely already taken.

So if I were you, I'd look up the NJ DMV and see if they have a way to order online.

CA does, and you can enter your letters and see if they have already been used.

Now, what does everyone think of this choice for my car:

CAD1LAC (I and L were chosen)

Or should I use a LT1 reference instead?

Hmmm I do like DADS GT. Maybe ANGS GT since his name's Angelo. Nice, nice, keep 'em coming guys. I wanna get vanity plates for my Caddy when my registration expires and I already know what I wanna get.

With the red color in mind, I was thinking of something hot, HEATED with some number, or HEAT. Maybe BRNTRBR. Lame or no? Ah, I love my plate.

Use the LT1 reference, how many people know you have a vette engine under the hood.

That would be cool, especially if it isn't taken.

For my Fleetwood I planned on getting "BADILAC." If I get a 1980 Seville I would get "SLOPD."

The taillights remind me of the Sequential ones from the the later model Shelby's. It's a shame they didn't do that on the new one though, that would have looked great. The headlight remind me of the 64 1/2 through 66 body style, but the rest of the car reminds me of a 69 Fastback. It's all good :D
