Pretty much common knowledge by now. V badge moved to PS on 10+. Cadillac is written on chrome trim on '11. And Nav was a ~$2K option in '09 and standard in '10+.

mehh.. the important context that's being missed is that there are no major mechanical or eletrical differences throughout the production line.

It's not like the germans where there are mid-model year refreshes to body panels, major infotainment system updates or avaliability of attractive options (like the sport-package for the M3's)

Where you might acutally want to research which MY to buy in particular to avoid expensive upgrades.

The biggest thing to happen to the V2 for the past 5 years are 2 piece rotors as standard, a rear view camera and free crappy oil changes.

It would be nice to have a list because I'm an anal categorizing bastard.. but for most people it's not relevent, and borring.

*yawn*

Wasn't there even more things changed after 09 in the interior trim dept? Midnight Sapele trim (as opposed to faux fiber) and foot lighting?

park assist - beeps as you're about to back into something.

blind spot warning - flashes on your side mirror and beeps when a car is entering into your blind spot - was on the '12 coupe I test drove but not my
'13 wagon.

"GM Badge of Excellence" is the official name. That was the first mod I made to my 08 Corvette. I pulled them off at the dealer :)

Also, the Cadillac script on the trunk (see below) is on my 2011 so it did not start in 2012.

2011 manuals also have the "no lift shift" feature. Not sure if 11 was the first year for that.

For some odd reason only the coupe has the blind spot warning. I think it would be easier to put it on all of the cars instead of picking and choosing but what do I know.

This was discussed previously:

By staging hydraulic pressure in the clutch for the next gear, the new control module algorithm reduces tap delay for the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5 up-shifts by 200-300 milliseconds. The system anticipates shift requests based on current gear, throttle, torque and speed. By pre-filling the clutch for the next gear, the tap up-shift response is near instantaneous.

Said Gabe Gibson, GM performance car calibration engineer: "Not only did we make the upgrade to Camaro, we implemented it on the 2012 Corvette as well, and will use it on all vehicles with TapShift control going forward."

Have you seen the coupe's blind spot? LMFAO....

I understand that. I was just thinking that logistically it would be easier to have it installed on all the vehicles.

I wouldn't have minded it on the V-Wagon. Those Rear pillars are a bit large.

On the 2013 CTS-V Coupe there is no well in the trunk for a spare tire of any sort (full-size or reduced). There is a well of sorts but it is barely big enough for the air pump and goo dispenser that is provided. Since I have OnStar for both my vehicles (2009 Sedan and 2013 Coupe), I doubt that either pump will be used.

As far as the 2009 CTS-V is concerned, the Rainsense wipers were not an option. I didn't ask for them and they were not listed in options, but got them anyway. Same thing applies to the 2013 Coupe.

What's the maintenance package listed? Ah, nevermind. I found it. Not really worth it for me to drive to a dealer for my oil change once a year. Maybe the cabin air filter if it's really hard to get at...

I looked on my list of things included with the 2013 CTS-V Coupe and did not see a maintenance package or anything resembling it. Is this an extra charge option?

Looked up the maintenance package and found this

http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2010/06/cadillac-launches-free-maintenance-program-on-2011-models.html

based on our subscribers' experiences with 1.4 million vehicles, we found Cadillac ranked 31st among 32 brands. yikes!

Can it be reverse engineered into the 2011's and earlier???

I am pretty sure the performance shops can give you even faster shifting if you want but if you change the programming that will void the warranty.

The maintenance package is included on the 2013 CTS-V Coupe (and I assume all Cadillacs beginning in 2011). I sent an e-mail to my salesman who verified it. It includes the oil change with synthetic oil, tire rotation every 7500, all filter changes including engine and passenger compartment, and multipoint inspections. This can be done at any Cadillac dealer during the 4-year 50,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty period.

I love how my local Cadillac sales person tried to claim his Cadillac dealership was the only one that gave free maintenance on the v's
All in all it's not the best selling point since it only adds up to few hundred. But it doesn't hurt.

Now to decide which service dealership in my area is the least shady...

A few other changes not previously noted. In 2009, V is on left side of trunk and CTS on the right; all other years are reversed, reading CTS V. Also, midnight Sapele wood trim became available at the end of the model year only, and the cloth on the door trim gained the perforations that the seats already had, so it matches completely, like current ones. Front LED footwell lighting disappeared during 2010 model year, but present in some early ones, per reports. Colors changed a bit from year to year, and Cashmere seat inserts were available on the standard seats only for 2009 and '10, but I think disappeared for '11 when Saffron Yellow inserts became available on the coupe. Finally. OnStar became smartphone compatible during 2010, I believe.
