Spy photographers have nabbed our first look at the 2014 Cadillac Escalade (http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/escalade). The luxury SUV (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/suv) is set to ride on the new GMT900 (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/gmt900) truck platform will underpin next-generation General Motors (http://www.autoblog.com/tag/general+motors/) workhorses like the Chevrolet Silverado (http://www.autoblog.com/chevrolet/silverado/) and GMC Sierra (http://www.autoblog.com/gmc/sierra). While the machines in these photos are heavily camouflaged, we can see the truck will bow with front fascia akin to what we've seen from both the Cadillac XTS (http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/xts) and ATS (http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/ats), albeit on a much larger scale. LED accent lighting stretches from each headlamp all the way down to the lower bumper, and a massive, tight-mesh grille looks to be part of the package as well.

Under the hood, the Cadillac Escalade will continue to offer buyers a V8 option, though word has it the company's engineers may also be hard at work on new twin-turbo V6 based on the current 3.6-liter unit. A next-generation CTS (http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/cts) with that same mill has already been spotted in development.

Meanwhile, the interior will enjoy the addition of the Cadillac CUE (http://www.autoblog.com/cadillac/cue) infotainment system as well as a full aesthetic update.2014 Cadillac Escalade on the prowl (http://www.autoblog.com/2012/10/11/2014-cadillac-escalade-on-the-prowl/) originally appeared on Autoblog (http://www.autoblog.com) on Thu, 11 Oct 2012 19:00:00 EST. With the all-new Range Rover moving way up in price, and Yukon Denali doing well -- actually with all Denali models doing well-- Cadillac has a prime opportunity to take Escalade into true flagship territory. Yes, I know a sedan shoud be a flagship, but the Escalade IMHO started the Cadilac rebirth, brought back the brand cred, and proved that bling is a definable, defendable white spac in the category. Considering how laser focused the ATS is, I'm hoping GM is committed to making this another breakout hit.

How about a nice smooth modern turbo diesel?
It's a truck, right?
