Does anyone in here subscribe to Onstar, and have the lockpick? I signed up for the 3 months of free onstar, but there seems to be some sort of glitch in sending me the vehicle diagnostics to my email. They arnt sure why this information isnt working as it should. Theyve sent reset signals to my car, blah blah blah.... doesnt work. Just a thought that possibly the lockpick was somehow interfering. Any suggestions?

I have a lockpick, albeit a different version (05-07), but I still get Onstar's useless diagnostic emails.

Tomm can probably answer this definitively, but assuming you have the lockpick installed correctly, it's basically just a relay so I can't see it interfering with Onstar, but I could be wrong.

Lockpick only modify's the GM Lan signal going to the Navigation unit. The lockpick would have zero effect on the Onstar Module which is separate from the navigation unit. If you are have having an issue with Onstar it is not because of the lockpick.

Mine have worked together just fine during a free trial, but mine's a 2006 & Onstar changed (I think) with 2008.

I recieved the email report for my car a few days later, so it was some sort of problem on their end.

Unlocks all greyed out functions and allows DVD to play while in motion.

http://www.bestradardetectors.net/Cadillac-STS-2005-2008-Lockpick.html

2005-2007 $299
2008-2012 $199

The reason the 2005-2007 is $100 more is because its a completely different unit and the 2005-2007's require a more complex unit to unlock the navigation unit.

Got ya, do you know if one can get an 08+ unit and install in an 05 STS?

No, Will not work which is why there are 2 separate versions. You can use the 2005-2007 Lockpick in any year STS but the 2008+ Version will not work in earlier versions. 2008+ units also have different steering wheels and buttons used to activate the 2008+ units are not on the 2005-2007. Even if you could activate it the Navigation units used different security locks and it would not unlock.

Tomm, just to be clear (for everyone). I've got one of your older Lockpick's (with the pushbutton switch) in my 2006. If I trade for a loaded 2009 1SG, I could transfer my Lockpick to my new/used STS and ensure my passenger has full use of my Nav/DVD/Aux/Bluetooth while I'm driving.

Yes, Your Modified Lockpick will work in all 2005-2012 STS's. But at the same time you can probably still sell your Modified lockpick for around $250 used and buy the 2008+ Model for $199 which uses the source button for activation unless you like the manual button method.
