I just had a quote today from a local tire dealer of $ 1900 out the door for Michelin PS2's for my '09 CTS-V tires, mount, & balance (out the door) price. Tires in stock. No alignment.
The same dealer clerk quoted me $1600 out the door for the same set-up about 5 weeks ago.
When I told him that somebody there quoted me $ 1600 out the door for the same set-up about 5 weeks before, he got dumb and said something about the tires could have been on sale, but he never told me that they were actually on sale.
Is $ 1900 out the door, less alignment, a good Republik of Kali price?
When he quoted me $ 1600 OTD I felt that the price was almost too good to be true, but not $ 300 too good to be true.
Your thoughts please?

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's have different OEM options, review your quoted and make sure he is giving you the GM part number tire, the front tire should be around $400 each for the front and $500 each for the rear.

Front: 255/40ZR19
Part number 34717 is for BMW
Part number 08752 is for GM
Part Number 99279 is for Mercedes Benz

Rear: 285/35ZR19
Part number 07893 is for Mercedes Benz
Part number 05159 is for Ferrari
Part number 46032 is for GM
Part number 18451 is for BMW

the $1900 sounds about right. You could get Michelin Super Sports for around a couple hundred less and they are a better tire. Or if you wanted to save some real money you could go with the bridgestone potenza pole positions for around $1200 bucks but they are not as good a tire.

Just look them up on Tire Rack. They have competitive pricing...

I just ordered RE-11s for all four corners today. $1400 for the set @ Discount Tire.

Sounds like retail pricing. Figure $100 to mount and balance if they are using a road force. Regular balance is half the price.

Gary, if you don't mind a drive to Canoga Park, call Mark at Tires Buy Mark.

I've gone to him for most of the past 27 years, and he always has great prices.

Seriously, it's usually worth the call and drive. Not a big shop, no frills, but I don't know, nor ask, how he does it.

So did you go with the stock size or upsize both front and rears also heard these are now unavailable or discontinued The Michelin The PSS are the replacements for the PS2s
Also cheaper in Price and a better tire....

The 1st quoted me $ 1600 but 2 weeks later they increased the cost out the door to $ 1950. I called a bunch of other PRK places and they could not compete.
Went with stock sizes. I will have to look and see if they are PS2'2 or PSS's. The tire dealer did tell me that either the rears or the fronts had been discontinued.
Wish that I had known about Costco. Local Cad dealer wanted $ 2500 & change.
