Is there no low oil light on this model? I recently bought an 05 sts v6 with 37,000 miles on it n drove about 300 miles n car was acting funny making rattle at low rpms. Dealership said they did oil change yet there was no oil at all. Put oil in car is fine now but wwho knows what damage was done. Just wondering if a low oil light was suppose to come on? Only oil light I seen was one saying how Long of oil life I have left nothing with how much oil is actually in car
Nope, I know for sure the 05-07 LY7 3.6 doesn't have an oil level sensor, but I'm not sure about the DI 3.6 in the 2008+ models.

Nope, I know for sure the 05-07 LY7 3.6 doesn't have an oil level sensor...
...but...why is there a part-# shown for an oil level sensor, explicit on a 2005 STS V6 (and yes, no listing for 06 and 07 V6 STS)...???

...also...different part-# for oil pan on 05, changed for 06-up

Always check oil level regularly.......its the lifeblood of the engine.

Agreed on checking the oil for sure, but don't the 3.6s have an oil pressure sensor at least? They must.

And that should have tripped a warning.
