does anyone have a black cts-v that blacked out just their grill? or even grill and the trim around the window? most of the pics i see are almost fully blacked out. i'd like to see a black car with a blacked out grill but leaving the caddy symbol and wreath untouched.

Well mine isn't black, but I plastidipped the grille the way you described.

Best part is it's so easy. Just spray over the wreath and peel it off later.

I went 1 step further and took the whole grill out/ left the chrome trim around the grille

that looks reallllly good too. i find when too many things gets blacked out there's no contrast and it doesn't look that great. it's kind of cool to see a few different options. i'd still like to see a black car with the window trim blacked out and the grill except the emblem and wreath and see how that looks. stock wheels too. i'm just not big on window chrome on most cars for some reason.

I have a white V coupe and now you guys are forcing me to do the same thing to mine, because it looks AMAZINGGGGGGGG. I just wish the pearl white paint was a brighter white and had less cream in it.

Looks awesome...exactly the same as my car, same pearl white & black grille. Looks 10000x better than the stock chrome IMO!

There are more than a few murdered out V's. They don't look good imo.

Is this Plastidip? How many coats and did you leave it matte or put one coat of gloss? Can't quite tell on the amount of sheen on the mesh in the pics, if any. Looks great tho! Contemplating doin mine like this or keeping all chrome...I just think it would go with the black rims much nicer. :cool2:

It's Plastidip yes. I go for at least 4 coats. Anything less on these cross-hatch palstic grills and taking it off will be a huge pain. The bast way is with a pressure washer. It'll turn a 4hour job by hand into a 30minuite opreation.

There's 0 gloss. The 'sheen' is simply the florescent lighting relfecting off it. If you look at the lower part of the grille, that's how it really looks.

Sick car and pristine garage!!
thank you for the kind words!
