Selling the SRT8 to an LXforum member (he's getting a smoking deal). Just finalized the deal for my V. We started at $49,888 and he lowered to $47,881 before I left the first time. Just called back and he's down to $46,000. Once we worked through the numbers the "out the door" price after trade, TTT, etc. came to an odd number that was easy to round down. Dealer dropped the price down another $157.03 (I know hilarious to dicker over that amount) so new selling price is $45,842.97. My new to me V is a 14,665 mile, 2010 Sedan, White Diamond, Recaros, Metal Pedals, Ultra-view roof, sapele wood trim, sueded shifter/wheel, polished wheels, automatic. Car also has a clear bra installed front and rear. Really well done as I didn't notice it until I ran my hand across the hood to check how clean the paint was. And of course the carfax was ultra clean. It has two years of warranty left and 36,000 miles (soon to be voided due to unapproved mods- LOL). I pick it up on Thursday and I'll post up some pix. Can't fuggin' wait gentlemen!

I'm back!!!!!

Welcome, but I already recognize your name. I'm traded in an SRT8 for the V too and I'm on LX as well. But that's not so uncommon anymore after they locked the PCMs and jacked up the prices on the 2011s. BTW, great price, I'm surprised if the dealer made anything on it since trade in is ~$45K. Also, get a GMVIS on the way out to see what was serviced.

Actually found this one at a Lexus dealer. So I'll swing by the Caddy dealer to get the service history.

PS. Just saw the listing, and looked at the pics, seems to be missing the polished metal pedals.

Scratch that then, I thought it was the one at Johnson Auto Plex - same price and options, but mileage off by 100 and change.

Nope, you're right. I had the mileage wrong. Aren't the pedals standard with the Recaro option?

Yes they are. Looking at the Carfax it was auctioned and mileage grew, so who knows what happened between those times. Maybe somebody took them off to put them on their V sans Recaro's.

I think I found the part numbers. Looks like $160 bucks or so. Now that I look at the Lingenfelter pedals, I'd rather have those for the same money. Don't really care for the polished look of the stockers.

SRP and one other company make really nice looking pedals. I forgot the other company, I think it starts with a "U".

Welcome back

You'll find the differential is a little stronger on the 2nd gen.
Some of the guys are putting huge power through it without disintegration.
Not that you would have any experience with that. :histeric:

How soon until the mods begin?

There's a TSB on the diff. If it wasn't done, get it done before you mod.

Will do. I see one for the air bag on the carfax and one outstanding.

Thanks man. I hear/see that the rear diff has definitely been addressed. Going to sit back and read a lot about the right mods. I've gotten some good advice so far. Looking for a daily driver that can easily run 10's and still be a daily driver.

Thanks for that Jim. Tried to post up some pix of the new ride, but failed. She's been a hoot to drive so far. Still reading up on my plan of attack for the 10's. Oh and ended up at $45,829 in the end with 2.59 /60mos financing.

Yup this makes my 3rd V. 2004, 2005 and now a 2010. Had 2, 2006 SRT8's in between.

I traded an '06 in on my V myself. The 300 was a great car, just in a different league.

Definitely. I did a ton of work to my 300 to make it handle (hotchkis sways, front and rear STB's, speedlogix bump steer kit and BC Racing fully adjustable coil overs lowered 2 inches). And still the handling wasn't in the same zip code with a stock V. I have a little course I run near my house I've already been entering corners at 10mph faster than the SRT8 and I still can't get the tires singing in the V where I was at the limit in the SRT8. And this is on Continental sport-contacts, not exactly sticky tires. Wow, just wow.

I see that the SRT experienced converted you to a slushbox driver. Heavy sigh (though trying to find a manual trans in our zip codes is tricky).

So is this 3 months without blowing the differential? I guess since the auto won't let you do 6000 rpm clutch drops, this diff might survive the CVP durability testing?
I hope that you are enjoying your return to the fold.....

Wow, so many back handed compliments in one post. What a warm welcome and not one LOL. While I must say the V1's were pure shiz, the V2 is a whole 'nother animal. The SRT8 held up pretty well only puking one diff at 50K miles, but it was never the handling equal of the V1 or V2. Now the best of both worlds with power and handling. And my favorite part was only $4k in mods to make just over 600rwhp. What's not to love?
