Ok guys i have an 05 STS AWD. I wants to go with a 22 inch wheel. My friend did it and he said the car is loud because of the large tires. He also said that from 65 to 75 the steering wheel vibrates. Ive seen a lot of people on here with the big wheels. I was wondering can these two issues be prevented or do I just need to go with a 20 inch wheel.

I have 20 inch wheels with absolutely no ride issues on the street or highway. 22 is too big, in my opinion.

Look what pulled up when I googled 'Cadillac STS on 22s'

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cadillac+STS+on+22s&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1440&bih=781&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=MOVhUPHpOMeA2gXj2oCoDA

I have a friend who made the stupid decision to riddle his STS with 22s and the ride is terrible, but all he cares about is the way it looks.

I'll admit, I'm pretty conservative. After having a look at some of those pics, I'm definitely of the belief there is such a thing as "Too Much Wheel".

The vibration is caused by wheels not balanced properly.

Ive had 22's for two years and no problems on my awd. Take her past 100 no vibrations smooth as silk. But I was thinking about doing some 20's cause I like the vogue cv7 wheels and id have to admit 22's look damn good but ride like shit on this car. The sport suspension makes 22's ride extra hard.

I can't stand that wheel. It's ugly and everybody still buys it. I just shake my head every time I see them. Especially on a luxury car..

well 22's might look nice but it probably wouldn't ride to great so i thought if i went with 20's it might be better

Can't imagine 22's with F55 suspension, it's pretty stiff with the stock 18's...

Try an AWD!!! This setup led me to tires with a softer compound & sidewall than I would normally choose. I'm very happy now but monitor tire pressures closely. (Recent temperatures require adjustments.)
