I've got a line on some used 18" Pontiac G8 wheels to use as my winter beaters. Since I'm buying used I won't have the chance to fit them or take them back if they don't fit so has anyone tried these?
The spec's are:

Bolt Pattern:5x120
Rim Width:8

Rim Brand:Factory, OEM
Rim Diameter:18

Manufacturer Part Number:92217685
Offset:48mm

Brand:Factory, OEM
Number of Bolts:5

18" G8's will not clear the brembos. They don't even clear the regular 4 pots without spacers iirc.

so now I'm confused, and I'm not questioning your knowledge, but I was under the impression that rims with that offset spacing would fit. There are others with 18 rims that fit, is it that even with the right offset some rims will hit the brakes and others won't?

I double checked my old grrr8 posts. I'm unsure about the 18's, it looks like my car had the sport package 19's and *those* will not clear BBK's.

I'm sure if you go browse grrr8.net there's an answer to your question.

Okay, so I test fitted the G8 18" wheels this morning and they don't fit. My search continues.

An 18" wheel will barely fit if the spokes are all the way to the outside of the wheel and the wheel is as thin as it can be. The TSW Nurburgring has both of these traits. It is the only 18" wheel I have seen on a V2. There are probably others, I just haven't seen them. I use the TSW's as my Track Day wheels.

+1 I have a set for track days.

For those of you looking for a cheap set of 18's for winter, I finally found some Touren TR9's and had a shop test fit them. They're putting my tires on them now so I'll be good to go and they're only $129 each rim here in Toronto.

Drag DR37 from discount tire will fit on the sedan. They need centering rings and smaller diameter lug nuts.

Shouldn't the c6 z06 fronts fit fine without spacers? I thought people were running them with 305/35/18 MT or am I wrong?

They do fit fine (get the front 09+ Z06 Spyder wheels). Replicas are heavier though so I'd recommend TSWs or real Z06 front wheels.

"the c6 z06 fronts" - I'll be needing some snow tires and 18" wheels are what I'm looking for as well. Your mention of the "Z06 fronts" so do you guys use front-Z06 tires all the way around at the track? (so your track/snow wheels are 1" narrower than stock?) or am I mis-reading?

Thanks.

I'm using TSW Nurburgring 18 x 9.5 all the way around for snow tire setup. For my 305MT DR setup I'm using 18x9.5 09+ Z06 front wheels. (Both are 40mm offset)

Both fit perfectly without spacers required and the 09+ Z06 wheels are a great match to the stockers.

Certain 18s, that also fit the G8s, will fit ours too. It's spotty though and depends upon how open the inside of the wheel is. I have some Modas and Sport Edition 18s that fit fine.
