I'm trying to close in on this 02 Lesabre. It has. A free carfax but apparently those suck. So is it autocheck I should look at? Here's the car. It's us exactly like our 01 with all same options, ours is just gold not brown.

Why? So you can drive a plasticky faux truck and look like all the soccer moms on the road?

They're good little SUVs if you can get over the stigma. Sounds familiar...

No they're not. Had one as a loaner. Hated the seats and the cutoff on the engine if it thought you accelerated too fast. On the plus side, it did return almost 30 mpg and I liked the styling.

Says the guy who drives a Safari.

Escapes, as told by my buddy whose fiance has one, are crap. That was one of the first gen Escapes though.

I may drive a safari, but at least its a conversion van (and an expensive one, not just a cheapo warmed over passenger van).
Its currently being used as a plumbing/ lawn care van, so it is also practical as a work truck, albeit a much classier, more comfortable one.

My hat 's off to you, taling a negative and turning it positive! You'll go far!

Nothing wrong with "girlie' car if they get the "girlies!"

The Escape is pretty much the ideal compact wagon.

My rental did haul a van core (radiator) support from STL to chicago. It barely fit, but it did fit.

Lmao. Oh you guys. Pretty much every car says something about its owner. Escape says "somewhat outdoorsy person who likes to have a little Spare room if needed, and like to have basic stuff". Now the basic is totally off. This was just all I could find in a hurry that wasn't V8. I love it so far!

Just for clarification on the original subject of this thread...

Both Carfax *and* AutoCheck should be part of your car-shopper "digital tool belt" when looking at any car that's worth a damn. Some info gets reported to one but not the other, and much of the time info doesn't get reported to EITHER of them, period. So it's important to know the signs of collision/flood or get someone who does look the car over in addition to your title history check with the two services. Carfax is also FAR more useful when it comes to OTHER non title related data. In many cases for high end luxury cars these days, Carfax is damn near as good as getting paper records because most repair shops (especially the dealer ones) now report to Carfax via ADP. You don't get this information on Autocheck, though Autocheck has more complete information about salvage/frame auctions than Carfax does.
