Long story short, the weatherstripping between the fender and the doors caused my dip to start to "roll" back on the door, with pretty much no resolution to stop it, so back to diamond white I go. Got her all cleaned up and went to take some photos, a cool 88* with low humidity in Arkansas is a rarity!

Thoughts? The chrome window trim is getting re-dipped next week. The V badges on the sides will go back to black next week as well to match. Giving some though to finishing my TSW's in bronze.....

Thanks!

Oh no, all that work that sucks. The white is awesome too, but you're definitely onto something with quick color change options for your car if you want.

Captn, Leave that MFER alone:thepan:. It looks stellar the way it is. I would not be a fan of bronze rims especially with the white.

your beautiful white car is trying to tell you something. It's like Christine, lol. I though of doing a black dip but after reading about your experience and my lack of experience, I'll go with paint and leave it to the professionals when the time is right. I'm really diggin those rims too, more than the forgestar f14s, I just dont want to deal with the spacers.

Today I saw a DW-V and it looked so beautiful. The blue was pretty cool, but the white is awesome. Your
painting threads remind me of an old movie where these bank robbers rob a bank and their get away car is
wrapped with all types of different wall papers and as they listen to the police BOLO's on the description of
their car they pull over and pull another layer off. This happens like 6 times throughout their getaway. I bet
you could really mess with the local police by changing the car of your car everyday!

Thanks! The spacers REALLY, REALLY aren't anything to be concerned with. They're just tiny rings that go over the lugs before putting on teh wheel to push it out 5mm. TINY. About the width of the white on your fingernail (unless you're a coke dealer :) )

So it went white to red, back to white, then to blue, back to white in less then a month? Any pictures of the issues with the dip rolling back?

Agree this looks awesome --- maybe try a hood and truck like the Patriot Missile or the Legionaire....

Not a big fan of white but I must admit, it looks damn good. Better than the Blue or Red in my opinion.

While Plasti-Dip is great. There are issues with it. I did a lot of my car in Plasti-dip. I have had to redo several areas due to the rollback issue you discuss. The vent on my passenger side just started to roll back so I re-shoot it. I had the same issue with the trim around the doors and had that vinyl wrapped. The grilles seem to be holding up well. The fog light surrounds and the rear valance surround seem to be holding OK too and I washed it this weekend. I wonder how long it will really last. If I have trouble with the grilles I will just go with a D3 Noir upper and lower grilles or may just have all the dipped parts sprayed. I like the all black look too much to go back to stock.

I would've loved to have black, but there wasn't one in my price range when i was looking. naturally, if I look now, all i can find is black :) meh, it's is what it is. I might upgrade to whatever the new ___ -V is coming out, probably the ATS-V, but i'm waiting to see what it's going to be. You're car looks GREAT.

How about PlasiDipping the bulge on the hood, the top of the car and the trunk lid? Too ricer?

looks best of all! The Dip was fun to try, but it still doesn't hold a candle to the white.

Captn and Mike's V's remind me of the old Spy vs Spy comics in MAD magazine.
