Stop by a MB dealer because they had a Smart Car there

There was a lot of room in it.
The top of the line is over $22,500 CDN
Did not take out from a drive yet.
The wife really like it.
It top speed is 135KPH
Over 60 mpg
It looks like a nice car to run around town and for Sunday drives in country
What does everyone think.
The car is to be on sale in the States in the new year

Saw one of those on the road here - had to take a double look

Economic and Ergonomic yes ....things to avoid on the open road :

A Breeze
Light Reflectors on the yellow lines
Large crawling insects
Large flying insects
Uphill inclines (downhill ok)

Until cars (and people for that matter) are designed to avoid accidents methinks I will stick with the Caddy and Montana :p

ok, I just clicked on "safety features" and laughed my ass off so hard...

the tires are used as a buffer zone in an impact, the doors are reinforced with aluminam.... the car can withstand a hit doing about 2mph with no damage, and 8mph with only the crumple zones being destroyed

it is really funny

40hp and 73ft-lbs from a turbo charged 3banger diesel....

I would really like to see what would happen if that thing came at me doing 40mph while I was doing 40mph in my '79.....

I've never seen one yet and don't expect I will. If that's the future, I'll walk!

Elvis, you made me laugh!

Put it comes with a 6 speed!!!!!!

The farmers out here won't have much use for it, or be able to pull anything other than tin cans from it during a wedding, but like you said, I can see a lot of women thinking they are cute.

I see an awful lot of those new Mini's around, and ALWAYS driven by the gentler sex.

Great Rick, lol!

Yeah Ralph I think you are safer walking also and probably faster. And they are going to try and sell those in the US. We are SUV drivers I dont think it will be a big hit. :histeric:

I predict it would be a big hit with young girls and environmentalists.

The young girls already have their Jettas. They would be great pizza delivery cars now that I think of it.

Believe it or not...back in the college days, we watched a video made in 1993 about artificial intelligence and the STS was an example of a "smart car" for the ways it can adapt to situations based on varying factors.
