The widely circulated PDF from 2000 on reprogramming the tire pressure sensors using a magnet is not valid for the SRX. The correct way to reprogram the sensor indexing is to use the simple method in the owners manual. Forget about the magnet. I tried the magnet method and it does not work. Follow the instructions in your manual on TPM on page 5-70…

Funny, I just spent an hour out in the cold discovering that the magnet method doesn't work. It actually does work somewhat, but not reliably enough to do all 4 tires within the allowed time. I wish I had read your post earlier. :)
Now I get to go deflate my tires and re-inflate them. Doesn't really seem like an improvement on the magnet method.

I just confirmed that the method in the manual works easily. The positive side is that you don't need a magnet, the drawback is that you have to spend more time fiddling with the tire pressure.
Just to recap for anyone who's too lazy (like me) to look in the manual:
1. Remove all of the valve caps.
2. Lock and unlock the doors with the key fob.
3. Turn the ignition to "on" without starting the motor.
4. Immediately hold down the lock and unlock button on the key fob simultaneously until the horn chirps, which takes about 10 seconds.
5. Go to the front left tire. Let air out of the tire for at least 5 seconds. Wait for the horn to chirp once. It will generally do this either while you're letting out air or within 30 seconds after (on my car, it was always within about 10 seconds if not during).
6. Proceed immediately to the other tires in the order RF, RR, LR, doing the same. You don't need to hurry, but the procedure will "time out" if you wait too long between tires so don't take a coffee break in the middle either.
7. The horn should chirp twice at the end if everything was successful, and you can see the pressures in the info display.
8. Reinflate all of the tires back to the proper pressure and put the valve caps back on.
NOTE that if you put on different wheels---for example, winter tires mounted on their own wheels---and do not follow this procedure, you will get "Service Tire Pressure Monitor" messages periodically. You can clear them with no ill effect, but they will keep coming back.

I just purchased an SRX that is supposed to have Tire Preasure Monitoring, but I don't see any information in the customer information display. When I test drove the care, the Tire Pressure Monitoring indicator light was on in the instrument panel - the sales guy said they would take care of the tire pressure. From the previous post, it almost sounds like the driver info display doesn't appear if things haven't been programmed correctly.
Thanks much,
Doug
Do you have the navigation system? If so you can either tap the info area at the uppermost right side of the screen to scan all your info one at a time or go in through the info buttom and scan through that way.
