Took a trip to Texas, gorged on barbecue, and brought home a pickup.

Thank god you came to your senses before it was too late! :)

Well, my senses wanted $4,000-6,000/year in fuel savings.

But now I can buy a kayak.

Woo! At least you've got good taste in trucks! We had a 2006 Laramie before we traded it in on a 2011 Laramie... Awesome truck. It was Bright Silver Metallic and all chromed out... I loved that truck. I think Dodge makes the best looking trucks on the road. They look like the ones below. HEMI, BABY!

Nice. I'm currently negotiating on (another) Dodge myself: http://helena.craigslist.org/cto/3227483235.html

I always hated the headlights of the truck on the left. I was glad when they changed them to the style of the ones on the right...makes the truck look much more aggressive

Wow, 18/25 MPG for a full size 2WD truck, amazing!

That '72 Adventurer looks nice too. I always thought the "Prospector" trim level was cool on those old Rams.

Great review, Jesda.
It's not exactly a Jaguar, but ever so practical.
Besides a Kayak, you could haul a skidoo in the winter, or a dirt bike.
You'll have a blast.

Did you get a chance to drive Ian's new LS when you were visiting?

Yep! He actually bought it at a dealer here in St Louis. It's buttery.

Nice truck. I bet a huge chunk of the money you save on gas while driving a hybrid would go to the battery replacement when it fails. Hybrid batteries are ridiculously expensive!

Ain't that the truth. Hybrids are overrated. Welcome to the forums Seth!

They're pretty cheap these days unless you go to the dealer. Honda charges $3-4k for a new pack. Aftermarket rebuilders can get it done for as little as $1000.

Just personal prefernce, but from about 2002 forward, the beauty contest goes to Dodge. Their trucks are just plain beautiful, even in a stripped down work truck like Jesda's. Ford has also been making some great looking trucks, they're just not my style.

Chevy/GMC has been making stuff ranging from medocrie to downright ugly in terms of pickup trucks. Its like the styling was a total afterthough, and they use a lot of that black plastic crap which I hate(Jesda's Dodge has a lot too, but not nearly as much as a same year Chevy).
