I know the 13's are starting to show up on the dealers lots. I know there are some deals out there on the 12's so my question is should I wait for a 13 or pick up a 12 for a few thousand bucks cheaper? Is there any big differences in the 13 models? I know book value will be slightly more for the 13 3-4 years down the line. I usually only keep them for 3-4 years.

In a few years I dont think model year will matter much for the V's. Because not much changed from 2009-2013. A couple silly options like back up camera or rain sense wipers will not effect value or resale. It will be mileage, condition, color, how stock it is, and the more desired options like seats, roof, trans that will make buyers pay more.

The only changes from 2012 to '13 that I'm aware of are the two piece brake rotors, availability of red calipers, and the light blue color option. Totally agree with Larry above on the minor changes, condition, etc.
not true, at all, take a look at an 11-12 and compare the prices with the same exact mileage. About 5-7k difference with the same options, secondly if you buy a 12 so late and 13s are out the initial hit on depreciation could screw you big time with insurance should the car get totaled. So prolly not a bad idea to get gap insurance at that point, next point is the warranty. 13s are now 6yr 75k miles on the power train as opposed to 5yr 100k on the 12s. Depending on your loan duration this is something that should be looked at. So there are other costs involved that may have to be factored in when comparing the prices and what resale will look like.
There is a black chrome grill option for '13 too. If u find a '12 on the lot u like it, pick it up. Deep discounts right now. I would but I'm gonna order my '13 TG. No '12s around here w/ the options I want.
^^^ Never saw that option anywhere on the GM Order Workbench, think that might be a dealer thing.
It's listed on Edmunds so who knows for sure.

Saw some discussion on the differences between the 2012 and 2013 CTS-Vs and if you check out the following link it will show you all the changes from 2012 for 2013: http://eogld.ecomm.gm.com/NASApp/domestic/newfeatures.jsp?year=2013®ionID=1&divisionID=5&vehicleID=12842

are the rotors standard or optional?
Does anyone have an actual picture of the rotors, so I can see the difference?
Why are the two-piece front rotors only on the coupe?
